Please Post Your Favorite Trend Indicators

Question

I am looking to incorporate a 3rd Trend (Buy or Sell Pressure) indicator that could work in conjunction with my intraday approach.

Just trying to brainstorm a little bit...I have a proprietary system which gives me buy and sell signals on many different time frames. Eagerly searching for an additional filter that will take the system performance to another level.......The purpose of this post is to find a few new rocks to turn over, maybe uncover something that I havent heard of or looked in to yet.

There are thousands of such indicators, some more effective than others. Hopefully, I can get some ideas from the traders here.

&#xD;&#xA;I am using a smoothed moving average with exponential Bollinger Bands.....basically monitoring when the average crosses the midpoint of the bands.&#xD;&#xA;Also, I incorporate a simple slope calculation (plotted as a line, looks like an oscillator) in order to estimate degree of slope on a given time frame. Time frames concerned are: 30 M 5M 1M, along with assorted tick charts.&#xD;&#xA;I trade commodities, mostly Crude oil and Euro FX, but am interested in trend indicators used for forex and stocks as well.

There are so many indicators to choose from, none are full proof and most are similar to others in one way or another.

Make sure your trends are not overlapping, if anything find an indicator that uses other data just to have a fresh approach and not repetition.

You read the books from Michael Covel then?  These turtle traders seem to be right up your alley.  Good luck.

I favor stochastics supported by the MACD.  Especially the Slow stochastics.  It can be used quickly and relatively easily, which makes it ideal for traders.
