Seeking Advice about TD AMERITRADE

TD AMERITRADE
 
I'm looking at investing from my computer at home and keep coming across the wedsite. I'm just looking for pros and cons about it

I dont like them. Bunch of crooks imo. I put in $1200 a few years ago and invested in some stocks that took a shit. I just let them sit for a few years, and  when i went back to see what my portfolio was worth, they said it was at zero.  They said i kept accruing fees for not having enough money in my account and they sold the stocks to pay the fees.  Its a bunch of shit if you ask me.  Go with Sharebuilder. I have had good luck with them

This situation with TDAmeritrade isn't all that uncommon.  I have an E-Trade account, and they have a quarterly inactivity fee (if you have a balance of less than $10,000 and have not made 3 trades in the last 12 months).  Point is, these brokerages are out to make money, so you've gotta make sure you read the fine print before you sign up with any of them.

That being said, if I had to recommend one of them, it would definitely be Scottrade.  Been using them for 6 years, never had a single issue with them.  $7 trades is obviously a huge plus too. 

I personally have had no experience with Sharebuilder, but I have not heard good things from those who have used them.  Personally, I'd stay away from them

has anyone used think or swim,  I have a practice acount w/ them, and am thinking about using them when I get my tax return, and liquidating my etrade account.

Theres a reason Pete Ricketts didnt get elected to the State Senate back in 95 or whenever it was he ran.  He doesnt have a big fan base here in Nebraska. He's as crooked as they come.  Fucker tried to get away with not paying property taxes and some other crooked shit.  But then again, Hussein Obama elected Geithner, a guy that doesnt pay his taxes as our treasurer.

The best move TD every made was to buy think or swim this last week.  These guys are the leaders in the boker industry!  Only place to put your money IMO.  Just as wong and TD keeps their sticky fingers out of things, TOS will keep getting better and better.
 
My fav new feature is the Active trader section.  You can scalp e-minis like the pros.  Hit me up if you want more details about these guys.  Too much cool stuff to list.  I'm a big supporter.

Yeah, I am using their practice software before I make a deposit (probably biggest deposit of my life for anything) 
and I am in awe of their software.
 
The prophet feature, and the active trader is awesome, and the fact that you can customize evrerything really helps. 
 
for now Im taking baby steps, Im not the most savvy investor yet, and I'm treading lightly as this is my nut, 
about 2 years of gambling, and savings.

I use them and have no complaints. I wouldnt say they are the best out there, but definitly work for what i need them for

Scottrade is the way to go.  Been a customer for 13 years.  I tried Etrade last year, and they just pissed me off so I closed it.
