Puts are your best bet if you think the market is going to tank and don't want to get slaughtered if it goes up. Look at puts on the triple/double long Indexes SSO or BGU for example this way your getting leverage on leverage to the downside. BTW: I picked up a few SPY Aug 99 puts today for a longshot.

palladium - agree with you about less risk with options, but like king of all jersey said i want to avoid the time decay that comes along with options

i think market is going to drop because consumers are not ready to carry this economy yet - some manufacturing indicators were positve last week, but i don't think it will be enough and i think market is over inflated right now
