in fact many times, IMO...I look for value all the time and go against the public in cases where they love some flashy player that won't win you anything and that was what the internet boom was about and recently Groupon and Facebook...I won't be counting on Vick to win any Superbowls...
Anyway, has anyone heard of Amy Calistri as a Investing Counselor? She uses skills from playing Poker to invest...is she legit? Have you heard of Street Authority? Would her Pick of the Month and books be worthwhile?
Finally, anyone have any services that do stay ahead of the curve to invest medium-long term money and even short term occassionally?
Thank you very much

Your question was a little vague. However, on the poker front. Places like Goldman said they were looking for those "types of skills" during the poker boom in the mid-late 2000s. However, unless you're on the insite these skills are pretty useless for trading. You need to be making monster moves in the financial markets for anything you do to have an impact and a casual investor certainly isn't doing that. Ironically enough that whole thing was kind of smoke and mirrors anyway. When push came to shove, many hires at those types of firms were nepotism based so unless you happened to be Johnny Chan and were a recognizable poker face, not sure how that would even help you get through the door.

well, since my original post I bought in on Amy's montlyis stock picks for this year and it's a mixed bag mainly because the Jan pick Budweiser kicked butt but Petsmart, the Feb pick got hit today. Still up overall since Bud torched the loss by PETM.
anyway-the real question is, should you jump in now with the record highs? Well 3 pretty smart people I know say this has gotta cool off and then maybe jump in this Spring....Corrections come fast after runs like this...like betting on the Heat now not after game 1-5, etc...
Patience, people.
