if i can give you a little advice Windir...from an ex-trader
find a few stocks you know inside and out and watch them consistently...know their charts, know their patterns and you can make $20 on a $40 stock by buying its dips when it sticks in a nice range
see RRGB for example: in the last year its gone from 36 to 42 4 times. i fyou traded those ranges you would have made $24 on a $40 stock that doesnt move

I'm not sure if you would call this swing trading or trend trading but it definitely adds up over time.
On another note. I'm thinking about postponing the start of my rookie year in stock trading to the start of January 2008 due to the fact that I am very close to being bumped up into the next tax bracket if I make any money in the stock market this year.
If I find a long position I really like where I am willing to wait to sell sometime early in 2008 or further than I will jump on it, otherwise, unless I see a really good opportunity to daytrade something I will lay off until the 2008 tax season to begin my journey.
BTW, I have a margin account, but not the required 25,000 to have a daytrading account. Allowing me 3 round trips per 5 days.
But uh, Yea. We shall see.
Stay tuned.

KOAJ - Thank you for the advice sir.
In a way that is kind of one of my strategies.

$1100 is a little thin for trading stocks, even penny plays. you may want consider long options. their risky BUT if you hit one right you can increase your wad quickly and I assume you can afford to lose the $1100 "gamble" money. if NOT, then you shouldn't be in the market.

Okay, so, sorry I havn't updated in awhile. Trading stocks really demands alot of attention. Atleast for my trading style.
I decided to get into a couple plays.
Got into MOSH on the 14th of december at .15, I had to take a business trip which royally fucked me as I could have flipped this for a 100% gain or more but ended up getting back to a computer on wednesday to sell at .20.
Not bad I guess but oh well. So realized gains came to 1,400 and some odd amount.
Made a stupid trade on NSOL, bought at .755 and sold at .675
Oh well, guess I can use that to offset any taxable gains on the MOSH trade.
So as of now I stand at 1,267.00
A gain of 167.00. Taxes and all that not included.
I have really just been watching alot, but plan on doing alot more trading in 2008.
May everyones 2008 be filled with love, wealth, health and all that good stuff.
Happy New Year everyone!
