Started with $19,000 or so from my mother's insurance policy in August. Was going to invest it in something. Didn't.
Now stand at a little over $6,500 after simply paying bills and buying a new laptop for work (tax write-off, but still an expense).
I just don't know what to do. Thinking of buying a small house in Florida or something cheap so that at least I have something in my name, however with my shit credit I'm not sure if I would even qualify.

Already pretty much in default status with Sallie Mae. Monthly payment is about $750 a month. Still paying off a car loan for a car I no longer own (thank you quality Chrysler vehicles). I'm in a commission position, so owe the IRS $1,300 in taxes from 2008. Just a bunch of little shit basically

IF the money has helped you along for the last year, then it's been a benefit. It sounds like you've needed it pretty badly. Why wouldn't u pay your house note with it? You've got to have a place to live!
