Did something change this week with the ads?

I have always been able to use this site fine until this week. Once I am here, I notice that the browser tab keeps swirling even after the page is loaded and within minutes one tab might be using 3 gig of RAM.

I have noticed this today. Apparently, Covers is trying to get more aggressive with the ads and trying to force the ads around the adblockers. Well, I dont put up with that. I use an adblocker all the time everywhere on the internet.  We are bombarded by advertising every second of every day wherever we go or whatever we are doing. The internet is one place where I have control over that and I will never give up that control. Now I am having to manually block elements with my adblocker on this site, but it still blocks them. Some companies just dont get it. There are some of us who use adblockers and some of us who dont. Quit trying to force the ads on the ones that do. I know it has to do with revenue and all that, but what you are trying to do is counterintuitive at best. All it does is slow down your site and make many angry. You will end up losing more users than you will gain getting the ads to the ones who dont want them in the first place. 

I don't mind the ads. They have to make money, but when they take my memory use to 95% I can't even make a pick. I just failed to make my Over/Under pick on tonight's NFL game because after 5 minutes of watching my browser swirl I had to kill the browser. I hope they back off on the high memory use ads.

The main problem seems to be with https://gisxxyni.com. It creates all these subframes that gobble gigs of RAM. I assume that is some ad thing.

Amazon may just be the owner of the server. I see googletagmanager as the host.

Either way,  I have found what needs to be done on the user end. Very simple, but I wouldnt want to let the kitty out of the burlap for the other end.

This morning I had to kill 3 tabs. Combined they were using over 9 gigs of RAM. I only have 4 gig so I guess my slowness was due to constant swapping.
