STAYING THERE  THIS  TRIP, GOING TO PLAY EVENT 8 WSOP.  WANTED TO GET A DECENT  ROOM.   ALREADY BOOKED IN A PACKAGE,  BUT LOOKING TO UPGRADE,  ANYONE

The Riv is probably in quite a state .

Hand the check in guy a twenty, it has been known to work. State something about a birthday or anniversary too.

yes i do realise it is not 1975, thats where the others were staying, hense the upgrade question, i know you probably only stay at the penthouse of bellagio or venitien, but i am happy anywhere a long as its vegas.  last couple trips i have stayed at aria and loved it, but like i said this is where the other guys booked, so i am going to give it a try.  thanks for you comments though

Magicman... Not anywhere as bad as some other properties. They recently remodeled some of the rooms ( flat screen HD sets - which is more than what they can say for some of the rooms at the Bellagio )

If you're looking for a home base, I think this is a perfect affordable option.. you're steps away from the Wynn properties.  However a  bit isolated from the center strip.  But you're really not that far from anything in Vegas.

The casino floor was a bit tired when I visited there last OCT, but the dealers were a lot of fun as they were happy to have people there looking to have a good time. If you're looking for lower limit tables you can easily find 'em there, and if you want to set up camp with a few of your buddies they'll be more than happy to raise the limit to a level that you guys feel more comfortable with. 

The best way to describe the Riv is affordable and accommodating
