Anyone stayed at the Wynn before in Vegas?

yea, just went a mere month ago and Im going back. Buddy has 3 free nights at the Wynn (regular room) the 24th-26th. I was inside there and it was amazing. how good are the rooms as all I can see are online virtual pictures/tours.
 
Anyone recommend any good restaurants there or elsewhere? I only really hit up the buffet at the Rio in terms of "real meals". Also, any other big sports books besides Caesars, cause I really didn't like their TV set up...

Wynn was great!
Club Tryst was like none other.

Forget the name of the all night cafe there.  Towards the back of the casino towards the elevator to the rooms.  Anyhow....the cafe or all night dining restaurtant is comperlable to the one at Bellagio near the botanical gardens.

oh yea....our room was awesome also.!

Try the $20 (or better $50) trick when you check in, you may get something extra special (think gym, a bar), well worth it.

He probably means sliding the person that is behind the desk checking you into your room and in return will give you upgraded shit. Could be extortion though for a murder though.

That's what he means........if you're decent to the person behind the desk they will sometimes upgrade you,it's happened to me on several occasions and only once did I mention it.

If you're staying on a weekend though  No upgrade for you.

The Bellagio Sportsbook is amazing. Leather recliners and great tv setup.

Im staying Sunday, monday and tuesday. So how exactly does this work??? Do I just say, hey here is a 20 before the transaction? after? someone walk me through this!!!

you will probably end up getting the guy fired.  I could just picture the hotel manager standing right there and you say
 
"My friend told me if I give you a twenty you will upgrade me for free"
 
Greasing a guy has to be a smooth trasaction if not you will get a I don't know what you're talking about sir.

Don't give anybody any money......just be very polite and ask them for the nicest available room. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Staying three nights doesn't help your cause. It is much easier to get a very nice upgrade when you're only there for one night. Point is, it doesn't hurt to ask, sometimes you get lucky.

I stayed in a villa at the wynn.
 
Not bragging, but that is what they put me in.  I have to be honest - everything was great but one thing.  They are not kid friendly at all, to the point of being anti-kid.  Dont know if you have kids, but I tell everyone - if you go to the Wynn - dont bring kids.
 
I would rather stay somewhere like Treasure Island where kids are at least not looked upon like little pests.

I ate a great resturant there.   They bought out a platter with 12 fish.  They cook a shit load of ways.  Expensive but good.  Vince Neil sat table next to me.

Just slip the note next to your i.d and when you hand it to him say "are there any upgrades available". I would suggest a 50 at upscale places like the Wynn, Bellagio or Venetian, although a 20 might work. It is customary for them to only take the tip if they do upgrade you, unless they are complete stiffs or new, so you can't really lose.

It is going to take more than $50 at the Wynn...the place is full of rollers who will not think twice about paying plenty to stay there

I didnt bother doing it, actually forgot!
 
However we did ask nicely if they had a room high up, and they upgraded us to a higher floor, which she said normally as 100 bucks more. Stayed on the 53rd floor. What a view, what a room

I agree --- Amazing hotel.  Gambling is great, amazing talent walking around, buffet is superb, and club is top-notch.

I will be back.

I am going out Feb 10 for work. last year after work my wife and I stayed at Palms for a few days to chill. This year she is not going and I will be in 1 day before the rest of Chrysler gets there. Should I say at Bally's the first night and save $160, or should I go all out at eh Wynn?
