Yes, I did my last trip.  A lot cheaper than a Taxi.  However, a couple things. 

1.  Uber cannot pick up on the strip or from the Airport, just srop off.

2.  As of last week, a judge approved an injunction to stop Uber from operating in Nevada.  So as of right now they are not operating.  I am not sure if that will change by the time you get there.

Why be tired of LV cabs, they're the best service in LV, UBER is (was) a mickey mouse operation, nothing more than a cheap way to get to the 'Strip' when staying at an off-strip hotel or downtown. and don't mind sharing a ride; not recommended by this LV resident; takes to long waiting, with a minimal marginal fare in comparison to a legit taxi

Cabbies have been taking me on too many rides. They insist on taking the Freeway from the airport instead of just going down Koval . When you tell them to take Harmon, they act like you are a cheap a s s . They run up 30 dollar fares for 16 dollar trips and then act insulted if you do not additionally tip them.

Dingy cars and cabbies  are not even making the money, a lot of it goes to the company that is just a useless shell for these guys. The Uber model is much better for the driver and you get a nicer car.

There is a reason why the cab industry is one of the major campaign contributors in Nevada. Sleazy business.

Vegas cabs deal with sooo many tourists that they have refined the art of ripoff to a science and are insulted if you call them on it.Just like Vegas strippers these are Velopatrapters on the Vegas velte.(sp)

the one box cab driver ladie i ripped a new behind and had her radio the supervisor ,  she will burn for sure.     one bad apple taints the whole barrel.    i cant wait to get her again from WHITTLESEA, i hope you see this u fat ponytail butch deuschbag.

Just waaaay too many psychos out there for me jump into some strange guy's car, especially if you're drunk which is usually why you need the ride in the first place. I don't want to end up in Pahrump in a well rubbing lotion on my skin, or else I get the hose again...... 

Here's something to try - it doesn't always work out, but once in a while you'll head out of a casino and start walking towards the long A$$ cab line. If you're lucky, you'll find a limo guy who's "between" gigs, or one that's owned by a casino that's "close" to where you want to go and leaving right then.

Don't be shy, walk up to the guy (or girl) and just say, "Hey, my buddies and I want to head over to Casino Such-&-Such, here's $50 bucks." If you're cool and not acting like a stupid bumbling drunk idiot, more often that not, if they've got the time, you've got a ride. Not only that, you show up in front of the casino in a friggin' limo....

Try it, let me know how it goes.....

I have been to Vegas many times and done this many times.
It is 50/50
Usually they want a little more, usually I just give in
Uber is safe, their drivers are screened and registered, just like cabbies.

The last time I was there, came out of the airport and now there is a big sign showing how much it should cost to go to each casino. No more taking the long way down the freeway and around. Good job Vegas, no way cabbies can cheat you now with that sign.
