Best place to watch sports...besides sportsbooks?

Looking to bet a few games, then head to a restaurant to watch the games...Im guessing ESPN Zone at NY NY is 2nd to none...but any suggestions, thoughts?

Blondies is a sportsbar in Planet Hollywood. 40/40 club is new in Palazzo. Haven't been to either but have heard good things.

There really aren't any greats sports bars in Vegas.

Many restaurants will have TVs to watch the game, but there really isn't anything special.

That is, entertainment revolves around gambling, not sports.

If u said which hotel, I could help out more, but Brent is right, most of the restaurants have TV's!!!!  Their are not a lot of places like ESPN ZONE at NY NY.  Centrifuge, the bar next to the sports bar at the MGM is a nice place to watch
games also!!!!

Ahhhh......what?   There are tons of sports bars all over the valley, where the main focus is on the game(s) and not on the video poker machines.  Literally hundreds of them.  Sports is kinda big down here, something to do with legalized betting of the games or something...

Seriously, there might not be the textbook, suburban sports bar, like a Jackson's or something right on the strip, but there are tons of them around town.

what im looking to do is this...Im going with a guest under 21...I want to go in to a sportsbook..throw some cash down on a game or two, and then head to the ESPN zone, or somehwere else..have some dinner and watch the game of my choice

He means around the Strip.

I can't imagine there being a decent sports bar in the suburban sprawl of Vegas that comes remotely close to the sports bars in the NYC metro area.

But you obviously know the sports bar scene of Vegas better than I do.  Where do you recommend I see games in Vegas in an establishment where sports comes first?

Having worked in a sportsbook, it's my experience that Under 21s are allowed to sit in a sportsbook.

They just aren't allowed to loiter around the betting sheets or betting windows making a scene.

If they are eating something from a nearby restaurant and watching the games, no one is going to say anything.

Generally speaking, yes.

I mean, you might run into a dick security person or whoever else, but you should be fine.

We only carded people who looked underage once they came up to the betting windows or looked like they wanted to place a bet.

Espn zone...I worked there for 2 years. The place has 134 TV's and the sportsbook...although shitty..is 10 steps outside the door. Not to mention the 40-50 22 year old chicks that either work there or are drinking there. A little pricey but imo its the way to go with someone under 21...One other option is they just opened a Buffalo Wild Wings 2 miles south of Mandalay Bay on the strip. Cost ya 7 bucks by cab.

I just came back to this thread because I responded to your other post about moving here. 

You're probably right about comparing sports bars in NYC to Vegas, there probably isn't a comparison.  But,there are a lot of sports themed bars around town, Putters, PTs, Stieners, Wild Wings, just to name a few. 

If you have a certain team (I grew up near Pittsburgh), find a bar that supports that team.  There are two Steelers bars in town, and on NFL Sundays, they are unreal.  Just packed, literally, with Steeler fans cheering to every single play of the game.
