Can anyboy tell me why you can't place sports bets in Biloxi or Atlantic City????

This question has bothered me for a while???  It just does not make sense!!!???

s  but cant get the bill passed thru the state government.

They've been trying to legalize sports gambling in AC for many years but cant get the bill passed thru the stae government.

Sports betting is only legal in Nevada.

I know, but why not make it it legal in Biloxi???????    It is nice, when u go to the Bahamas, u can even make a sports bet over there!!!!!

I know that is the answer!!!!!   I just wanted someone else to say it first!!!!!      I would go to Biloxi more often if I could bet on sports!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The league commissioners are fervently against sports betting.

Ed Koch, former mayor of NYC, wanted to have sports betting on pro sports in the different OTBs located throughout the city, but the pro leagues stepped in and stopped it.

Sports betting in AC and racetracks throughout NJ is imminent.  My guess is it will happen within the next five years.

Good point Brent!!!   I know that with Vegas, if they notice anything wierd, Like the Arizona St basketball scandal, they can put a stop to it!!!!  It is the dark secret of The NFL!!  They don't want to talk betting, but they know it helps the ratings!!!!!

More of a bribe in the sports gambling world if they would have it in AC.  Vegas is the only place and still hard to keep other from cheating.

Some friends in NJ said that sports betting will be on Nov ballot
due to the fact that AC handle is down because the states around AC
have slots and gaming and AC isn't the only option to gamble anymore. Eg..Penn,NYC, Conn.,WVirgina.

True, but they have no idea what would happen to their revenues if it were illegal everywhere. They're clueless.  Of course, illegal bookies would take over, but it would be nothing compared to what it is today.

As far as the gaming license, I'm no expert, but I do know you have to have a 'Class 3" license.  I know this, because I used to live in Wyoming.  The Wind River Reservation in Riverton, WY applied for a gaming license, a Class 3.  The governor at the time signed it, not knowing what it really was.  So, techincally, the Wind River Indian Reservation could take sports bets.

guys, the wire act of 1961 stopped all sports betting, or information related to sportsbetting from crossing state lines via telephone or internet or otherwise. 
 
"whoever being engaged in the business of betting or wagering knowingly uses a wire communication facility for the transmission in interstate or foreign commerce of bets or wagers or information assisting in the pacing of bets or wagers on any SPORTING EVENT OR CONTEST, or for the transmission of a wire communication which entitles the recipient to receive money or credit as a result of bets or wagers, or for information assisting in the pacing of bets or wagers, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both."

buddies and I we planning a trip to vegas for march madness but it doesnt look like its gonna work.  So we were thinking biloxi......I had no idea there were no sports books there. That really sucks and puts a damper on a plan that we all thought we had figured out!!

Dabears, DEF no sports betting in Biloxi, but U can sports bet in Atlantis, Bahamas!!!!!   Just go there!!!

wifey has no desire to go to biloxi..dont think I could pull it off to the bahmas without her its worth a shot though
