Yeah, most places in Vegas will let you buy a few points. I've never really had any problem with that. As long as it's within reason....

Yeah maybe "within reason" wasn't the right choice of words. To answer the OP's question, I meant that if you just want to buy a few points here or there, you will have absolutely no problems anywhere. But, if you're looking to M/L a 35 point favorite, or something like that, some (not all) casinos won't let you do something like that. And sometimes (like at the Golden Gate on Fremont) their "sportsbook" is just a walk up computer terminal kiosk - and everything is not offered on there. I guess it depends on where you go...

Hey thanks everyone! Very valuable discussion.
FYI I'm only talking about a 1/2 point here or a point there. Maybe 2 points MAX. (Just trying to match the picks I get from my source, and often the point spread will move before I can bet.)
Generally online, buying 1/2 point will cost me 10 odds units -- meaning, if the pick is +4 -110, buying 1/2 point to get it to +4.5 will be -120. etc.

Things must have really changed lol. Ten years ago NO sportsbook that I asked would ever let you buy on or off of 3 or 7. I don't ever buy points so I am not questioning you guys, but I find this curious that they all just let you buy a half or a point or multiple points.....although it does make sense. If someone wants to buy points, why not let them?
I must ask though.....what is the juice on buying on or off of 3? -135? -140?
