Dumb Newbie Vegas Questions

Question

My apologies in advance for the Vegas newbie questions.

1. Can I sit in a sports book with my computer, doing my calculations? I have a vague memory of reading somewhere that this was prohibited. If I had to, I could simply use my cel phone, but that's a pain.

2. How are bets actually paid for? Credit Card? Debit Card? Nobody wants to lay $2500 bets in cash, right? (I will probably set up a new bank account just for this betting spree.)

3. If I want to spread my bets around, where is a great place with several good books within walking distance? (For instance, what about the corner at which sit the Bellagio, Caesars, Ballys, etc?)

Obviously I've never done sports betting in Vegas, just online. Thanks in advance for answers. I welcome mocking and abuse!

1. Think so but every book may have a diff policy.Saw a horse player working a laptop at the Gold Coast.

2. Cash only.Casino chips,maybe never tried.

3.There is a lot of CET (Caesars) on the strip so same lines..so learn where not to go.Closest off-strip is the Rio,GC,Palms all diff books and a few minutes walk to each property.There are probably options like that downtown but have not been there in years.

Rio is CET GC is Boyd and Palms is Cantor.

Bring cash to the betting window - downtown has best options all within an easy walk - uncertain why you would want to  " spread bets around" - just get the best number you can  - period - try and hit some winners and don&#x27;t get overwhelmed and off your gaming strategy as many Vegas newbies can quickly get off focus and off their game - it is fun and  glamorous for sure but even a veteran can quickly go up in flames - enjoy Vegas buddy - take in a show , eat a good meal , talk to people -

Ralph First things first, take all the cash u want to gamble and leave the cards at home aside from one card for checking it at the hotel that way you don&#x27;t get crushed. Secondly listen to James he Is correct  lots of hotels in Vegas are tied together owned by same group so same lines u will just be wasting time walking around. And aside from downtown (old Vegas) the casinos are not that close to just run next door and check most places is a 10-15 min walk just to get off the property. Good luck ! And don&#x27;t forget to stop and breath from time to time Vegas can crumble u if u let it

MGM Grand, Mirage, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, Aria, New York New York, Luxor, Excalibur, Circus-Circus and Monte Carlo are MGM properties and therefore will have the same lines.

Wynn, Venetian, Caesars will all offer different lines from those mentioned above (or at least have a chance to) as they are owned separately.

It takes a long time to walk everywhere on the strip. There are no shortcuts as they want you to see every piece of the property.

If you want to line shop. Open an account with William Hill, Stations, and CG. That will cover all but Harrah's and MGM. Those two are close together at Planet Hollywood - MGM.

Word of advice. The lines are very long all day. If you want to make quarter or halftime bets - live betting - Get an account and bet on your phone.

Some places let you use a computer - I have done it at Stations. I think they were more perplexed than anything else because the guys that work in the book are out of the 1980's.
