not sure what national means to you but they have locations in nyc, mass,michigan,florida, nevada, new jersey, pennsylvania, texas.......

No way Subway can be put out of business by Earl of Sandwich!  Never even had Earl of Sandwich, but I can think of at least a dozen sandwich joints that I would rather eat than Subway.  However, Subway has such a great brand and awesome marketing that continues to drive people through its doors.  When I think Subway, I think healthy and cheap.  I'm pretty sure that's how a majority of customers view them as well.  It's not always about making a delicious sandwich, it's about marketing yourself as something that no one else is.  There's a reason why Subway is the number 1 fast food brand in the world, when it comes to number of locations.  Number 2 is McDonald's, which I would say is nowhere close to the best burgers out there.  Yet, they are able to destroy the competition when it comes to sales/franchises/marketing... pretty much anything.  I would like to try Earl of Sandwich though, as I have heard nothing but good things.

The reason there are so many Subways is their franchise model.  It doesn't cost a ton of money to get a franchise, and Subway has no "exclusive territories" so they will open more stores than the market will bear.  I bet 100 times more Subways close every year than McDonalds.

I didn't realize Subway had no "exclusive territories."  Kind of makes sense now that I'm thinking about it, I've seen Subways within 1 mile each other before.  As for McDonalds closing stores, I don't think I've ever seen them close down a single location.

That's almost all I eat during March Madness.  You can literally eat that shit for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!  Been there- done that.

these two sandwich joints wouldn't even compete with one another. Subway throws together a 500 calorie, $5 sandwich in about 30 seconds and pumps customers thru their stores all day long.

 

Earl of Sandwich makes a gut bomb for $10 and calls your number when it's reeady after 5-10 minutes. However, it is very good!

Subway doesn't even know Earl of Sandwich exists, maybe Quiznos haha

Subway has been taking alot of heat lately because of all the High Fructose Corn Syrup in all it's breads.  HFCS has been linked to many health issues.

Capriotti's is good and they have multiple locations in the valley, but nothin beats the Earl at PH. You can get a hot sub for like $5.99 

And for us degenerates, you can use your Total Rewards points to pay, so even if you just got busted on the Jets losing on the spread, you can still get fed..

YES I WAS IN VEGAS NOV 17 THRU 21.. EARL OF SANDWICH IS ACROSS FROM PLANET HOLLYWOOD SPORTSBOOK... AWSOME HOT SANDWICH AND THEY MAKE THEIR OWN BREAD.. THE HOME MADE SOUP IS VARY GOOD TOO...  THE PRICES ARE VARY REASONABLE   A +++

Just a straight up success story out of 1957 NJ Shore that has franchised out everywhere with no loss of quality at all.
