Headed to Sin City for the first time end of September.Any advice would be appreciated.Best sportsbook etc.Staying at The Palms for three days.

What are you most looking forward to? Poker, sports betting, clubs? I think that is where you need to start. I went mainly to play poker and had a blast playing at MGM and putting sports bets in. I stayed at NYNY and didn't venture too far away from NYNY, MGM, and Luxor. Next time I go I'd like to stay somewhere closer to the middle of the strip.

fyr.....Remember that The Palms is off the Strip...shuttle bus or taxi to the Strip....Good young crowd and The Maloofs draw celebs on weekends when something hot is happening in town...like a Beyonce concert....

As far as convenience....The MGM properties offer the ability to go from Mandalay Bay to Excalibur using a 2-minute, free tram and that puts you across from The Tropicana, MGM Grand, and NYNY...which puts you next door to Monte Carlo which has a free tram to Aria/City Center and Bellagio which puts you next to Ceasars and across from Paris and Flamingo, etc....

So take one full day and start at Mandalay and explore....remember the hotels LOOK close BUT they really are a long walk between each of them....

Imhungry.....as I have said in many posts, NYNY is perfectly situated (see earlier post) to give you a lot of access to many other hotels/casinos/books.

If you want to be up further, and in the same type of $$$ range,...I would look at The TI....across from The Wynn/Encore and next to The Mirage....lots of fun up there.....

Thanks Vegasgourmet. I always appreciate your insights/advice. I'd love to get back out to Vegas, but I'm trying to save up to go to the world cup in 2014. Trying to build my bankroll day by day. I figure... 8k?... will be sufficient to have a hell of a time in Brazil.

Just so you know you can catch the public bus in front of the Palms. It cost $2 one way or $5 for 24hrs. If you purchase a ticket on the strip it cost $7 for 24hrs.

From the Palms the bus will stop right after it crosses over the strip beside Bally's if you decided to utilize the public transportation. To catch it back to the Palms it's on the side of Caesars.

Switch over to The Flamingo.Older hotel but right in the middle of the strip and in the end all I&#x27;m looking for is a bed to crash in.Really looking to hit the sportsbooks not being a card player.Be there on time for MNF so looking to wager a significant amount of my bankroll on Dal/Wash matchup.Depending on how that goes maybe some baseball during the week even though I hate wagering on it.No football action again until Thursday which will be my last night there.If I&#x27;m then might not even be able to do that.Thanks for all the input though...
