Been to Vegas twice, but never for NFL season. Was there for NHL/NBA playoffs and never found watching a game to be difficult, however, NFL is a beast on it's own. Just wanted to see where the best place to watch football is on Sunday. I will be putting some bets down, but mainly looking for a place to watch the Cowboys game. I assume this won't be an issue, but I also don't want to get stuck with a tiny TV that I have to crank my neck to see.
Additionally, since LV is 3 hours behind EST, the 1:00 games will start at 10:00AM PST. What time should I get there? I was thinking between 8:30 and 9:00, but even that might not be enough time. Is there a good spot to go where I can place bets, walk 10 feet, and be at a bar to watch the game? (ie - NY NY) .... any advice is greatly apprecaited.
Cheers!

Well sportsbooks all have limited seating that fills up extremely fast. Many of these places are filled or spoken for by 730-8am or earlier. Also, many seats are reserved for regulars or better clients.
My favorite place is the LVH. Get there either by the monorail or cab. It has a 1500 seat smoke free theater, $2 beer specials, cheap food, decent food in the Sportsbook Deli, and a great atmosphere to watch the game. Prize giveaways and other fun things going on. They set up huge HD screens across the front stage, not a bad seat in the house.
Otherwise, many bars take reservations or have seating set up for all of the games. Blondies and Twin Peaks near Planet Hollywood, NYNY Sporting House, The Pub at the Monte Carlo all come to mind. Be aware, though, that most of these charge some sort of minimum, whether it's per game/hour/person/session.

Yeah, you need to get there 2 hours or so before Gametime to get a seat. Not that bad because they have the pregame shows on. My Personal favorites is the Venation or Aria.

LVH is great. I like south point just because its comfortable and cheap to watch games all day. I usually try to get a table behind the south bar and usually need to be there about 9:00 to get a table.

Eh ... thought I'd share some of my information with others incase they were curious for future reference. I decided to stick with Aria, got there at 715-730 for the 1000 (LV time) kickoffs. The place wasn't jammed, but there was some people already scoping out seats. I had no issue getting a nice couch in the corner which had a sweet view of all the TVs, including the big one on one of the side walls. Be aware though I saw 2-3 people saving a full row (maybe 10+ seats) of people. Probably too early to argue with people, but just know it's almost like going to the movies....I would say around 845-900 this place filled up quick. If you want to make bets, do it early. A lot of people would stay, sit on the floor, or lean against the wall to watch the game. I even got a "sit down" when I got up to cheer a Cowboys play because there were several people behind me watching some other game. Naturally, I ignored them.
Drink tickets are available. I had made several bets so getting them wasn't an issue for me - bets ranged from $15-$100, I couldn't tell you the minimum off hand, sorry. However, if you are relying on them I would probably make your bets early, accumulate some, and tip well (a few times the waitress didn't even take the ticket). I also used previous day tickets for the day of the game. They didn't question me.
I would say overall it was a nice sports book. A little jammed once the games got going, but once the second set of games started you could find seats. When the late game kicked off, seating was not a problem at all. One complaint I would have is they don't serve food. I was the first in my party to get down there so I was starving and in need of a Coffee. I had to wait until someone else got there before I could get food - not ideal and didn't think to ask why, and not really sure if that's normal, but that was just an observation.
best of luck
