because I am staying for a week.
How is the hotel?
Do they have a nice sportsbook?
Do they offer drinks at their sportsbook?
Any good places to eat? I heard Vics is good.

When it comes to dining there are several outstanding options for you,,first and foremost is Vic and Anthonys, the steaks are great but my personal fav is the colorado lamb chops, served with a chopped steakhouse salad and a glass of house red, its about a close to heaven as you can get here on earth--pass on the desert tho, its delish for sure but the chocolate box right across the hallway offers a fine assortment of goodies that are just perfect for a little something for the sweet tooth. Other options include Lillie's which offer up world class asian cuisine and is very reasonably priced, the recently opened Chart House has great fresh seafood (try and get there before 4 and save yourself some coin by getting in on the lunch menu, much cheaper and still very nice sized portions) - The Grotto is the italian rest. on site and is quite tasty as well and features an excellent wine list. For breakfast may I suggest you step next door and eat at Magnolia's at the 4 Queens,, you will find better lighting for the morning paper read, bigger portions and better food (and a few dollars cheaper as well) than carson cafe has at the Nugget. Very few pools in the downtown area and The Nugget's is the cream of the crop without question.
As you can tell I'm a huge fan of The Golden Nugget , I strongly suggest you make The Nugget your lodging choice. Please feel free to contact me if you seek anymore detailed info about the Nugget or anywhere else in the downtown area,,oh yeah Gordie Brown puts on a hell of a show in the ballroom and The country music superstars show is a lot of fun as well if you are into that sort of thing--Enjoy your time and stay ,,you will be glad you did.

Thanks for the info nc1capper wish I was back in Vegas!!!
Golden Nugget has everything you need in a casio/hotel...only thing I did not like is that it was not located were the Flamingo is. Just missing more than one place to listen to live music/dueling piano's.
The Nugget is by far the nicest casino down on/by Fremont. Loved there pool....I case anyone wanted to know the third floor is the best place to sun tan...and not the hide a way....that gets to much shade for this guy.
The only thing I did not like about the Nugget sportsbook is that it was missing soccer lines...none to be found so had to go to the Fitzgerold and found those missing lines there. Good thing is it was three casinos away and only took minutes to get to.
All in all a great casino, just don't like the area around there. I did visit El Cortez, and I thought I was in a movie of the walking dead, because I thought everyone there wanted to comit suiside, but it was fun gambling there, and playing craps one night...The "WalMart" looking of casinos.
