Hotel Recommendations...... and Why

Been to Vegas numerous times and I'm trying to figure out which Hotel to stay for the next trip with Vegas Virgins. We are in our 40's if that matters. I've stayed at Mandalay Bay and The Hotel when it opened, MGM, Sig at MGM (which is nice but a 5k run to the strip), Caesars (must have been an older wing as the room was dated), Aira (in 2011, nice place), Tuscany (not a bad place for what it is), Nugget, Planet Hollywood (when it was Aladdin) and a few more i forgot about.

The difference in cost between the Aria, Bellagio, Vdara, The Hotel at Mandalay Bay and Paris is +/- $50 per person. This is for the Hotel and non stop airfare for 7 days/6 nights. The question is which Hotel would you stay and why? Please keep in mind the room quality is important as I don't want to run into the dated room I had at Caesers. ty

Luxor/Excalibur/Monte Carlo

All on the strip withen walking distance from everything and it wont kill your wallet.

I never understood why guys stay at places like Wynn and Bellagio

Unless you are a chick who is going to post pictures all over facebook or brag about how nice your room was.

Vegas rooms for me are a place to sleep,shower, use the bathroom and sleep.

I dont think Iv ever hung out in my hotel room without doing the things I mentioned above.

Not quite certain if you're asking for a recommendation with the hotels that you mentioned or somewhere else....

...from the ones that you mentioned, you might want to look at the new towers (Octavius) at Caesars...only about a year old and quite good. THEhotel has always been top-notch, more "Monaco" than Vegas.

Based on quality, and considering hotels that you did not mention, I would suggest that you look at The Cosmopolitan. These were to be, originally, condos; but the builder went bankrupt....so you have really nice suites; and the hotel, pool scene, food, etc is very impressive.

mafiosco/vg, thx for the input. I'm looking at the specific hotels I mentioned for many reasons including price which is +/- $50 per person different for each location mentioned.

VG: agreed, a different tower at Caesars or the Cosmo would be great but they aren't within the price range I'm willing  to spend. I'm assuming some of the mentioned hotels will place me in the "old" tower/location. The Aria and The Hotel are the exceptions I believe as The Hotel's low end room is a 4 room suite and I've stayed at Aria. The Vdara might be included with them. . Do you know if the Bellagio or Paris have any low grade wing/tower which would give me the same experience I didn't like in the old Tower at Caesers? (ya get what ya pay for sometimes)

Our favorite is the Mirage.  The location is one of the best on the strip and the rooms have been remodeled.  Nice, modern stuff too.  Plus we feel safer there than somewhere like Harrahs or Flamingo.  There is a daily resort fee, but you also have that at Mandalay Bay.  But for the money and the location, you cannot beat the Mirage...

Plus the pool area is real nice!!!

 

I disagree with Mafioso.

True, you don't spend a lot of time in your room, but when you are there, you want it to be nice too.  My wife is picky, but I wouldn't want to stay in a dump on my vacation!  He mentioned Luxor, Excaliber and Monte Carlo...these are ALL dumps and I would never stay at any of those.  I will spend a little more money and stay at a nicer/cleaner place.

Flamingo was ok.  Harrrahs was ok.  Mirage is great!  NYNY was ok.  Ballys was a little dirty.  We're staying at Tropicana in September.  Will let you know about it...

 

The key to the post is "is your wife going?"
If not save the coin and go 3-4 star at a Harrahs etc
If the old lady is there, you are stuck paying the man.

big jeezy70 you lost all creditbilty after you said tropicana. worst i been 1) end strip 2) no big sports book leroys downstairs  15 chairs only have games on satelite no drink tickets its like you in big basement i heard they changed though,3) buffett sucks lot chairs at pool because never full like flamingo fo price .great pool with waterfall,middle strips go next door ip great sports books give drink tics ,only one 6 hotels in vegas takes teasers. loved cesars sports book never stayed there though
