I'd like to find a gig either dealing blackjack or teaching mathematics in Las Vegas; however, I'm also willing to work for a sports book.  I'm the guy that brought a huge run in MLB two years ago with plays which fit specific mathematical parameters where I named them Fulcrum and Reservoir Dogs plays.

if you already have schooling dealing BJ then i would be a dealer at the casino there. They make probably around 50k-100k especailly if you are in the poker room. if i were you i would go back to school to learn all the games and become a dealer there. work your way up and do poker rooms.

nothing wrong with being a dealer, but I feel that it would be waste of 6+ years of schooling.

Be a teacher and deal on weekends/summers. It is extremely easy to get a teaching job here vs the rest of the country.

Easy to get a job in Clark County Schools. Could be a little rough though at certain schools. Find a job in a private school and deal cards on the weekends and summers.

No chance they make less then 40 assuming you're on the strip.

Of course tips are included that's where they make their money. At a minimum they make 100 a night. Hell bus persons on the strip make more then 40k a year and that's not including the tax benefits of a majority of it not being reported.

I highly doubt with the unemployment rate the way it is that you're going to be able to walk in to any casino and be able to deal just the weekends or even summers for that matter. The teaching job you will have no problem getting especially since you're a math teacher, but low pay if you don't have a masters. 

Thanks again for the replies.  The ball is in motion; I have an interview to teach at one of the local college in the works.  Now I'm hoping and applying for a dealer's position  as I've dealt before; only BJ and 3-Card however. 

I've started my own tutoring business before, and I may just do that as well if the dealers job fall through.  I can teach guitar and mathematics of all levels.

I dealt at the Hard Rock while going to UNLV. made between 65 and 75K a year. not bad for a college kid

The difference between a dealer that makes serious bank and works at a top end casino vs down town or a dive and struggles is age and looks! If you are an attractive person under 40 who can deal head to the Aria, MGM, Bellagio, and such. If not try old properties. Same goes for servers.

Your reply is interesting because I recently decided to do a photo shoot.  I'll be sending in pictures to the Tropicana and other places in the next two weeks.  In addition to that, regardless of the result, I will be attending a dealer's school while I teach part-time at CSN.  I dealt BJ for a year, but in Vegas, I'd probably not only have to, but want to, learn all the games.  I'm hoping I can get hired in a BJ only pit. 

It may seem weird, but women have encouraged me to do something like this throughout my 20s.  I'm 35 now, but I look 25 luckily.  I've got a decent physique, but I've been doing an awesome nutrition plan lately in addition to working out.

No Bread, no pasta, no sauces etc, no rice......

Lots of chicken, fish, turkey bacon, eggs, sweet potatoes, onions, zucchini, water, green tea, black tea, coffee before workouts, no sweetener.  Then every two weeks, spend an entire day EATING whatever you want. 

Key Vitamins too:  B-complex, fish oil, vitamin C, biotin, and carcinia gambogia.  LOTS of Salad, with extra grilled chicken.  Balsamic only!  It's working for me very well.  Most people don't think I need to lose weight, but if I want to compete with dudes in their 20s, I've go to be able to see the abs, not just have them.

I've also been working out at least once a day - sometimes twice.  No Gym, no trainer, no bullshit. 

All pushups, sit-ups, jump rope, curls, shrugs, and jogging.
