I have to be in Las Vegas for work the week of the 21st and am flying out a bit early so will be there all day on Sunday the 20th and plan to bet on the games that day (2nd day of 2nd round - will be 8 games).
My client has booked me a room at Mandalay Bay. Have been to Vegas a handful of times but never during March Madness and never stayed or been to Mandalay Bay.
Have a few questions:
1) How is the sportsbook at Mandalay?
2) Do they give drink tickets for bets if you ask? I am a 110-220 bettor per game generally. Will go higher if I really like a game?
3) Is it going to be super crowded on the Sunday of Round 2? Want to ensure that I am able to get in halftime bets if I see any value.
4) If any negative responses to the above, are there any other sportsbooks anyone would recommend me spending the day at?

Never been for MM and it's been years since I've seen the book,but I'm almost positive drink tix will come with that amount of bets and the place won't be as packed like your normal NFL Sunday,and these game are spread out also over the day..You're good to go.GL

Mandalay Bay is a great place to stay. Go check out the beach and the wave pool. It's great. They also have a lazy river and Moorea Beach Club is great -- European style, which means the chicks have the option to go topless. I know they put in a new nightclub too, although I haven't been, I hear it's nice. Lots of good dining options, with the buffet being solid.
The sports book at Mandalay Bay is big and spacious. Lots of seats and lots of big screens. That day that you are referring to (Sunday) shouldn't be that crowded.
As for drink tickets, you might get a couple, but they aren't real generous with them.
As far as other sports books, and since you are on the south end of the strip, make a right out of Mandalay Bay and head south to South Point. It's about a 10 - 12 minute drive. Their sports book is awesome, spread out, good lines, and they are good about giving drink tickets. Tip them some bucks on your winners and they will really hook you up. (Btw, South Point is great all the way around --sports book, beautiful cocktail waitresses, movie theatre, bowling, Steak n Shake, friendly staff, clean and cheap to stay at, etc.)
Also, you could stop by the outlet mall on your way or way back from South Point, to treat yourself to some nice gear from your winnings. It's on the left as you head south, past the airport and next to Manor Suites.

Not a problem for me. I'm a young buck in good shape. More interested in the free drink tickets as I plan on pounding beers and placing bets all day on Sunday.
Maybe I will take an uber up to South Point and check that out.

kodiak is correct about South Point. just might be THE best sportsbook for viewing games in the city although like all the others it will be NUTS during March Madness. IF you are betting $100 to $200 per game they will give you oodles of free drink tickets. chairs are average but comfortable. as a local I say worth checking out

Stayed at Mandalay Bay a couple times over the past 3 years. THe sportsbook is as good as any on the strip. You shouldn't have a problem finding a seat and they do give out drink tickets.

just following up and wondering IF you got past South Point first weekend of the tourney and IF so waht you thought of it? was a madhouse as expected but WAY fun. didn't hurt that my Mrs hit a 2 dime video poker pot Thursday

Ended up stayin at Mandalay Bay. Had 220 dollar tickets on SFA +1.5 and N Iowa +7.5 so had a good time. Had no issue getting a few drink tickets either. Won on sports and blew my load on the tables Monday night.

YES and she backs THAT up hitting a ROYAL for 4 dimes @ Green Valley Ranch the Saturday before Easter!!! I am just gonna QUIT sports betting and give HER the money to play vids
