About 2 years ago... I called a few hotels such as... Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, Mirage, Treasure Island, and Caesars... I simply asked them... name the price that I would have to roll over in the sportsbook area to get anything... Free Rooms... Free Dinners etc. Every person on the phone said sir... we don't do anything like that here. I said what? I said... come on... there has to be something... they said no. I said look... I'll forward you $20,000 and let me put in in play... just one time... or you set the requirements... 2 roll overs... whatever. They said sir... again.. we don't do anything like that.
Now, one of my friends told me that he received many things comped... and he never even put anything close to $10,000 in play at the tables. He told me approx... with everything included nearly $800-$1,000 comped...hotel rooms and dinners. He's the kind of guy to tell it like it is... never lies... how come no one took me on my offer?
I mean I want to know... how to get things comped so I know what I'm dealing with here. I wanted to stay 7-10 days in Vegas...
Any advice?

from what i know the general rule for betting sports is $300 wagered on sports is worth 1 comp $. so $15k wagered is $50 comp $'s. $30k is a $100 in comps. With the room rates at high end places good luck on getting free rooms. Basically they only look at the juice they get and at 4.5% (their expected hold on juice)30k in bets their expected win on that 30k is 1350. based on that they only give you $100 comp $. That is a general rule and the only info i have for you.

They book even action on both sides $16500 each.side totalling $33000. Their expected win is $1500 divided by the $33000 held of the game is 4.5454545%. How much would you comp your players if your expected win was 1500 on each 33k?
Lakers -1 16500
Celtics +1 16500 (even action on both sides)

From the books point of view lets assume this

I have been a Harrahs player for the past 5 years. You only get good comp's by playing slots. Cards and sportbooks don't give you shit. The world of Vegas is changing.

unless you give the casino action on the table games or slots, forget about receiving comps for betting on sports.
it doesn't matter if you bet $50,000 on an nfl game at mgm or the wynn (and yes, you can bet at those limits if you have a relationship with the sportsbook director), you will not receive any comps except a few coupons for free drinks.

Yeah, I've never heard of comps at a sportsbook, of course, other than free drinks. It may be due to sports betting being the only form of gambling where one can do research, exercise judgment, and consistently make money. All card games and slots have a house advantage, so why should resorts comp rooms for a smart sports bettor who is already taking them to the bank?

I use to get comps at Sahara when it had it's own sportsbook because I think my action helped justify the writers jobs and my girlfriend worked as a teller in the cage.Meals, shows, and even a room just so I could use the pool. Sahara went to Leroys and I didn't get shit anywhere else.Sports is not a negative expectation for the casino so they can't figure what you will drop and they only throw you some watered-down drinks.

They won't give comps for sports betting because you can actually beat them with good research and money management. They'll comp you on slots because they know you will lose in the long run, same with the table games although the house advantage is smaller.
