Resort Fees- What a Rip Off

Question

Just booked at Harrahs for October. $18 a night resort fee for local calls, health center, and computer outlet.

4 nights for $72 + 72 for resort fees.

WHAT A CROCK

AS IF THEY DON'T GET ENOUGH OF YOUR MONEY.

I agree but you are fighting a losing battle my friend. I thought the Harrah's properties didn't have resort fees? OR is that Caesar's Properties? I'm pretty sure one those 2 don't have resort fees. I stayed at The Gold Coast last Summer for the WSOP and the Resort fees were 4 bucks a night (Now that's reasonable)

But yeah, I can't imagine the number of people that complain/rant/rave about it....they need to figure out a system where they charge the people for using the gym, making calls (who in the FU*CK makes calls from a hotel phone anyway?), using their internet, etc. It's a money racket for sure.

Harrahs and Caesars are under the same company. They just started the resort fee thing a few months ago. If you book thru their total rewards your resort fee should be waived. i recently stayed at Caesars, PH, harrahs and the Rio and they all got waived.

Basically every casino on the strip now has a non-option resort fee unless you're staying at Casino Royale.

The only way they get waived for the Caesars properties is if you're at one of their top 2 levels in their player's club (or if you had the trip booked prior to March 1st, 2013, as that's about the time they started).

Complaining won't do you any good, as it's standard procedure for all of the major hotels.

I did book thru the total rewards web site so I will have to check that when I go.I agree with ad1260. I stayed at the Orleans in March and had to pay a $4 fee which wasn&#x27;t bad. But $18 is gouging.

Booking through Total Rewards doesn&#x27;t make any difference unless you booked the trip before March 1st or if you&#x27;re a top tier card member.  $18 isn&#x27;t much fun, but everybody&#x27;s paying it. Many of the strip properties are $25/night.

Another new $ grab they are implementing- Early-check in fees before 4 pm.Like $15 at the Rio and higher on the strip.

I got into my room about 2 pm this past Sunday,but desk clerk knew it was comped and I was holding a folded up $5 bill for him so was not charged.Not sure if it he thought it was a $20 or the comped room that did it..But did notice the check-in line at 4pm or so was huge..F'n huge.

This blows for the people on early flights from the East coast and get into Vegas early afternoon..and I believe CET wants these tired folks on the casino/restaurant floor for a couple hours instead of unpacking.It cannot be a housekeeping cleanup issue unless they cut half the staff,which may also be a possibilty..So another few bucks in tips to the bellmen to hold your bags outside.

and btw Internet fees were $12.99 a day and over at the Gold Coast $4.99...

It takes 2 bankrolls to travel to LV nowadays one non-gambling..

Everybody has them, so you can&#x27;t really blame Hurrahs.  Plus paying only $72 for 4 nights is freakin insanely low.  Can&#x27;t believe you are complaining about resort fees when you got about the cheapest deal you can get on the dtrip.

Its a B.....not much you can do about it.  They are all over like Airlines baggage fees.  MoFos made over 2 billion $ in baggage fees last year.

I fly southwest airlines, they still do not charge for carry on baggage, which is all you need for Vegas. As far as the resort fee, yes they suck and can not be taken off. I have stayed at the encore 4 times in the last 3 years. Get a casino host, although they can not subtract the fee because their hands are tied on that matter they will comp a good amount of your food if you work them. Encore resort fee is $25 per night! I stayed 4 nights las year and my host comped all buffets and 2 fine restaurant dinners for 2 people.

Resort fees are like Airline bag and change fees, just factor them into the equation when booking travel. I don&#x27;t understand why Caesars didn&#x27;t just increase the room fees and advertise "no resort fees" . Some of us like company&#x27;s who advertise a square deal without hidden crap. Oh well, we still have Southwest
