Hi fellas. I'm a local pro handicapper living in Europe, I will come to Vegas thru september. My question is, I always shop for best line/odds here before placing a bet. This is pretty easy when all betshops are located in same street and you can scan them with few clicks of mouse.

However, How you scan all books in Vegas in order to get best odds? If theres a website giving you vegas odds, I'm sure its slow and not fast as real odds. Is there any way to track/scan vegas books odds rapidly?

    Thanks in advance!

It's not always completely up to date, but it does a good job for a free service.  This covers a large number of the LV sportsbooks, as quite a few are run by the same companies now.

There are services you can pay big money for to get up to the minute odds, but that's not worth it for a short trip.

Search Caesars casinos (CET), MLife casinos, Cantor, William Hill and the LVH as they're the major ones.  I'm not going to list every casino, but they're readily available by those searches.

All of the hotels are in fairly close proximity to other sportsbooks that have different lines.  Staying downtown is generally a shorter walk to get to 4 different sets of lines.

Don't over cook the goose - could take an hour or two to move from one end of strip to the other and the half point you were chasing is long gone - not hatin , I'm just sayin

Downtown books are closer but limited no. Of books.  Strip more but  wider distances.

The problem with line hunting in Vegas is the time it takes to go from book to book, even when they are right next to each other.  By the time you go from book to book, the line may change.  You go to the Bellagio and see the line is X, then you go to Ceasers and see the line is Y.  X is the better line so you hustle your behind back to Bellagio.  By the time you get there, the line is at Y or even worse.  Line hunting in Vegas just doesn't work.

It can be tough in LV.  One thing that's worked for me is usually being there with 2-3 people.  We'll split up, knowing what we're interested in betting on, and check different properties for lines, and wherever the best one is, that's where the bets will be placed.  We just quick call/text.  Even then, though, by the time you get to the window, that number might be gone.

This is how I line hunt in Vegas.  I pick the games I like, research them on the computer in my hotel room.  Write them down, and the lines at the different online sportsbooks.  I then go down to the casino to place my bet.  If the casino gives me a better line then what is being offered online (which happens more often then I thought it would) on the side I want, I will place more money on it then I usually would because I am getting value.  If the line is the worse, or I detect the line moving at the online books in a favorable direction, I may hold off on the bet a bit to wait for the casino line to move favorably.

Obviously, it depends on how much you are betting, too.  If you are a Little Leaguer betting, like, $50  a game, it's not worth shopping around.

In the old days, back in the 1970s and early 80's line shopping in Las Vegas was very lucrative - but that was before widespread use of computers and interfacing.  Now, they all move their lines in tandem for the most part.

Downtown las vegas you have 4 different sportsbook companies, William Hill which control majority of the casinos downtown,Station which operate out of El Cortez,Coast which is Sams Town, Freemont and Main Street, and the Golden Nugget who operate their own.

On the strip you mostly have 2 outs, Ceasers and Mgm,under betting services mgm is listed as mirage, the other two is the Wynn which is my favorite and Treasure Island, and Cantor which operates at the Tropicana at the end of the strip.

When im in vegas i usually work downtown because its easier to walk to other casinos because the ones listed are close proximity to each other. I suggest getting a Ipad where you can get instant lines from sportsoptions.com for as little as $35 bucks a month.

The hardest line to beat is MGM followed by William Hill and the easiest is Wynn and Station
