Been to E by Jose and it was pretty over the top.What else should we be looking at?Love the Top of the World view but food is only good.Anyone have any other suggestions?Thanks

The Redwood at the Californian. Small restaurant with that "old vegas " feel. Excellent steaks, prime rib and seafood and reasonable prices.

I believe the OP distinctly said, "the very best, and romantic" and you recommend &#x27;The Redwood&#x27; at the California? one thing for sure....the rates are definately reasonable, to each his own, unfortunately, this would be the last place in Vegas I would recommend for a romatic dinner on the town, and it&#x27;s a far cry from  "one of the very best"

have NOT been to "Oscar&#x27;s" in the Plaza Hotel &amp; Casino downtown BUT years ago when it was the "Center Stage" it was excellent. overlooks Fremont Street and was VERY romantic with excellent steaks and seafood. the Mrs and I used to always go there when we used to stay at the then Union Plaza back in the 1980&#x27;s. when we moved to Las Vegas in 1990 the then "Center Stage" was a place we would take out of town visitors and they were always impressedwould like a comment on "Oscar&#x27;s" from those that have been there recently. I fear that like many Las Vegas casino-hotel  "gourmet" restaurants now days it is probably "over priced and under done"

LRR,&#xD;&#xA;Was their  two years ago, it was simply &#x27;Oscars&#x27; now it&#x27;s called &#x27;Oscar&#x27;s Beef Booze Broads&#x27;  (the former mayor, Oscar B. Goldman&#x27;s joint) the steaks are excellent, and cooked to order, the view is spectacular, the service was perfect to say the least, unfortunately Oscars has become a dinosaur by LV standards, many steakhouses with equal, or Kobe beef, I&#x27;ll take the fountains at the Bellagio, over Freemont St...if you get my drift; as you are well aware of, Vegas today, is a mere shell of Vegas 30 years past...that era ended with the demolition of the Stardust.. take care

NOW it is freeking New York City prices

Chicago Joes downtown near 4th st 14 oz lobster tail cut up into your pasta dish One of Vegas Hidden Gems Great pasta fagoli soup too

Golden Steer steak house

Nice steakhouse

wonderful seafood very good steaks at good prices

You will eat as much and save half the price of Prime, Gordon Ramsays or Gallaghers

Mint India

off strip

One of the best if not the best Indian restaurant I have ever eaten

Even have my pic on the wall as I was crazy enough to sign the waiver and eat the ghost pepper curry

Took my first bite at 8:30 PM

didnt stop sweating until 5:30 AM

Wife thought I was having a heart attack

Lotus of Siam

some of the best Thai food Vegas or any place that is not in Bangkok has to offer

Dont LaughCircus Circus Steak houseVery good quality Steaks great prices I mean great Prices.Circus Circus Steak House has been an "under the radar" BEST of Las Vegas for a LONG time. also The Broiler at Boulder Station, excellent steaks and seafood with an outstanding salad bar. prices reasonable by current Las Vegas standards. the New York steak is $25 while my Mrs favorite, the fried shrimp, is $27. sides can add up BUT it is still a deal. IF you are on the east side of town on Boulder Highway it is worth checking out

Thanks guys for the recommendations.I have eaten at the Eiffel and it is great. Also, the views are outstanding.I think we will try Prime and I will get back to you.I love the steak at Circus Circus and the old school "Guido" waiters. Been there many, many times.Mafioso, your palate and tastes mimic mine to a great deal, if you ever have the itch for something totally outrageous, try E at Cosmo.It was almost 800 for dinner for two but I will never forget it. The most amazing meal by far I have ever eaten. 22 courses and wind pairings for many of them, they had to roll me out of there.

mafioso,&#xD;&#xA;It&#x27;s a high level Spainish Tapas restaurant (E) tucked away (3rd level) at the Cosmopolitan. if you&#x27;re into Spain, you&#x27;re into E...a new LV experience few are aware of...no about it, have yet to experience it, good reviews...

Ate at Prime on Thursday. Very good.I am a little mad at myself as we were seated by the bus station in the back of the patio and I did not ask to be moved. Not the best environment with the wait staff right there all night but again, I own that. Should have waited in the bar for a little better seat.View of the fountains from there was ok but not great.Food was amazing and the portions were huge.I ordered a little too much as we really could have split the lamb my wife got or the fillet. Fricking massive portions for both.Never seen a 55 glass of wine before, wow, that is crazy. My wife does not drink so had some 18 Sauv Blanc (too hot for red)Thanks for the recommendation guys. Food was great. Location beautiful, service was spot on and extremely professional.  I confused the names of the waiters and was calling this guy the wrong name all night. He handled it perfectly and did not make me feel like the drunk horses arse I really was.Expensive but I think it reached high expectations.
