Always go to Vegas for a weekend during football season and I've noticed the $79-$99 rooms at Mandalay, MGM and New York New York are now $300-$400 a night. Might as well stay at the Wynn or Venetian if the prices stay that high.

they have a new NFL stadium, and a new NHL arena to pay for...what you; and everyone else is paying extra for (as Goggles-Pisano has stated above, is a dramatic increase in the Clark county resort tax) which is applyable to all Hotels with a Casino attachment

Don't forget to add the ever increasing Resort Fee

The resort fee I'm referring to has nothing to do with Tax or the yet to be placed teams.
Tax just increased to13.38% which is not causing the room rates Maceo spoke of to increase 3 fold. I could be missing some other taxes and this probably doesn't include the tax for the Raiders as they just received approval from the NFL to relocate.
The Resort Fee is added to the room rate and typically not quoted in the standard room quote. The Resort Fee for most decent Strip Hotels is between $29 - $39 per room per night plus the 13.38% tax ($32 - $43 total). Even if you find those room deals for $80 this "Resort Fee" blows that deal to smithereens.
What do you get in the Resort Fee tou ask? At the Aria, Caesars and Bellagio you get "free" Internet access, gym access and free local calling. What a frigging rip off! Oh, you don't have a choice to decline these wonderful Resort options.

The NHL arena was paid for privately by MGM and AEG. No public funds

Vegas is back in the boom cycle, my comps have almost disappeared. Thank God Boyd still sends me free nights. Room rates up across the board not so weekday but the weekends have gone through the roof.. still a cheap vacation compared to other spots
