Vegas in January

Question

thinking of heading out next year will probably tour Calif and maybe Az and other warm weather states as well

what's the weather like that time of year ? I was in Cali a few years early Feb and it was pretty decent, thinking Vegas will be the same also have a hunch hostel prices will be cheap (yes I know there's an S in there but I intend being out in the US for a month or two so don't want to spend all my cash on hotel rooms)

Vegas gourmet  lives in the area and can confirm but I have always heard jan and feb are the two cold months

yeah, I lived in Yuma, Arizona (same basic climate)

In the morning and at night will be pretty chilly, most days will be ok during the day. Although sometimes it will be cold all day. A few years ago it snowed on the strip during Christmas

Jan is about the coldest and I&#x27;ve seen snow in the morning.The wind is the worst part and you can get by with a light jacket if you&#x27;re not hiking up/down the strip.

Are you sure there are hostels in Vegas? I &#x27;ve slept in some cheap dumps and I would have considered them if I knew where they were.
