What is the cheapest way to go to Vegas? As in which hotels are the cheapest. No need to stay in anything fancy or on the strip. Is there anything of the strip that I could take a cab to or even walking distance?

I wasn't impressed with the Luxor either. The Excalibur next door is a good one and the rooms are about $50/day. They will comp your room if you play a lot, exposure at about $500/day. You can win or lose, it doesn't matter.

None of them will comp for sports betting. Cheaper places are all off the strip but only during weekdays. You can get $29 or $39 room per night during the week at places like Boulder Station, Palace Station or maybe the Orleans.
Check out a site called Kayak.com. You put in your criteria and this site checks all the travel sites on the web for you to find you the cheapest rates. It's a great site.
