With so many sportsbooks in Vegas, how does a person keep up with knowing what lines are being offered where? They don't give out that information over the phone, so you have to drive around, burning gas, paying for parking, etc. just to look at the board at each one, right? That would be a never-ending loop and there are far too many sportsbooks to do that with anyway. Do you learn from word of mouth, which ones are most likely to offer numbers that are most likely to be different than the majority, then hone in on a handful of places that you frequent each week, then visit each one every day? Do they all have aps with real time numbers? Do you have to download an ap and clutter up your phone with all of them for each sportsbook you want to follow? Is digital online betting making it so that you don't have to visit in person? Wouldn't you have to have money on account to do that, just like with offshore? Is ID always required, even if you place bets in person?
If a group of sportsbooks are run by the same parent company, and the line changes at one of them, does it change simultaneously at all of them under that umbrella?
I've also wondered if cashiers get mad if you were to hand them a losing ticket, just so they can scan it to confirm that it lost, for those of us who don't trust ourselves when it comes to not throwing away a winning ticket by mistake.
When betting in person, are there casinos with bank branch offices inside where you withdraw and deposit cash so that you don't have to walk around with on your person? Is it optional to have money on deposit? If so, can you leave it there and have the balance automatically updated like offshore so that you don't even have to visit a cashier?
I just don't see how you drive all over town checking lines, deciding when and where to bet, then retrace your steps once games have ended to collect your winnings. Sorry if these questions are dumb, but I've never been in a sportsbook before and don't want to wait til I get there be educated on how it's going to work, especially if it's not my home city and I'm just coming there for the season, beginning week 1.
