...on the Las Vegas Sun website. For example, there's a Las Vegas Sun story about his being a target of Democrats looking to exploit his ties to various right-wing causes for political advantage. Below the story is a comments section, and about a third of them have been removed. Surely, not all of them threaten his existence, but this isn't surprising since Adelson is noted for being overly litigious.
Maybe if he would've spent more time with his sons rather than honing in on all those talking about him, maybe their lives wouldn't have felt so empty, that they wouldn't have become drug addicts.
I'm not flaming this man because of his politics. I'm not so petty as to boycott a place because of one's politics, hell, I'm pretty loyal to MGM Grand casinos, whose CEO Terry Lanni is a prominent Republican benefactor. But Adelson is just so fricking reprehensible.
I didn't even like the Venetian before I was fully aware of the kind of person Adelson is. Rather than being an homage to Venice, it's more like a cheap knockoff and not only that, but it appears someone fed the Venetian after midnight and dropped water on it, budding the Lego-like Palazzo next door (then again, at least it's not the Trump International--really, Donald, you couldn't fricking design something that looks like a rejected draft of THEHotel at Mandalay Bay)?
Right now, I'm reading Winner Takes All by former WSJ reporter Christine Binkley and it details how Gary Loveman, Kirk Kerkorian, and Steve Wynn shaped modern Las Vegas. Some wonder why Adelson was left out. From what I've read, Binkley just dismisses Adelson as not important to modern Vegas, but she probably just wanted to avoid the headache of pending lawsuits for libel.

I disagree with your assessment of The Venetian. I think it's one of the nicer places on the Strip. Can't fault his business decisions. May not be the best person in the world but what politician or successful businessman is??

Oh, I'm not discounting what Adelson has done. I don't know if it was his vision or he heeded the advice of others, but he pretty much established Vegas as a destination for conventioneers when COMDEX was a smashing success. He's earned every penny, it's just his bizarre witchhunts on those who say anything negative about him.
As for the Venetian, people seem to either love it or hate it. I just didn't "feel it" when I walked in, like I "felt it" (this is beginning to sound pornographic) when I entered Mandalay Bay, TI, Bellagio, and Mirage and to a certain extent Hard Rock and Palms.
Other places I didn't "feel it" include New York, New York, Luxor, Red Rock, Tropicana (actually, I did feel something there--the crawling up my leg of a massive roach that must've been a mutant from the nuclear testing they used to do in Nevada...okay, that didn't happen, but I want to convey what a pit the Trop is). I even didn't "feel it" at the Wynn.
Tastes vary, in fact, I'm often ridiculed for my preference of TI.
