I know this is the baseball forum but I need some fellow gamblers to cry to. I was playing poker at Mohegan Sun today and was down about $600, still having $900 I told my buddy the Hell with this slow death I'm putting it all on a hand of black jack. I walk up to a table and announce I'm betting every thing in my pocket and stack up a bunch of 1,5,and 25 chips in the betting circle. At this point the pit boss, an Asian guy comes over and says u can't do that here and moves my chips to the side. I say the table max is 1k. He says we don't have room in our chip tray. I say what difference does that make I'm going to win anyway. They have a liitle meeting and he says only one hunred! Confused as others are betting more I say so you won't take my action here? Only hunred! I yell at him a bit and eventually put up a $100 in chips and of course get dealt Black jack. Turn to the Pit Boss and say thanks a lot you just cost me $1200 and he says what u meen I no say u can no beyt. I'm like yeah you did as everyone at the table agrees with me. He says I said you couldn't color out your poker chips at dis table. I call over a higher ranking pit boss who says I'm an idiot and the table max is 1k and of course I could bet and if it was a big deal I would've called him over earlier. As well if I didn't win I wouldn't be complaining anyways.
Meanwhile the Asian says I misunderstan u; I sorry. So I say screw it and bet 1k on next hand and get dealt 20. Dealer has an 8 showing flips over a 5 and promptly hits with an 8 taking all my chips. And to add insult to injury the pit bosses cheer my loss. I may have to quit gambling after this out of pure disgust. Am I an idiot for not understanding that for some reason the Asian thought I would walk to a blackjack table to color in my chips when there were cashier booths all around? And for not understandiung some guy that barely spoke English?

Yikes. That hurts. Just gotta shake it off and remember this experience next time you want to chase.
Also, never ever let casino staff prevent you from betting posted limits. You gotta keep asking for the next person up until they honor their signs, and if they still dont, you gotta walk out of the place.
anyway, tough luck. sorry.

In retrospect you are right that's what I should've done but I repeatedly said I wanted to bet all the chips in front of me and was told no. This was like a 3-4 minute discussion before the hand where I said bet atleast 15 times never anything about coloring in. In ten years of playing bj I'd never heard of this and was so confused that I actually thought they wouldn't take the bet cause the chips wouldn't fit in their chip tray if I lost. I assumed he was the main Pit Boss until the other smug bastard came over after the hand. Maybe I'm just a moron

It wasn't the limit, it was that for some reason the Asian Pit boss thought that I wanted to color in all my chips for $100 chips @ a blackjack table and that I wasn't trying to bet them. Screw it I went down there to take a shot at the title and I did. At the end of the day I probably would've lost it anyway.

No they didn't deal because I put all the chips out and it was the last hand in the shoe.
dick,
You're right but it would've helped the confusion if anyone there spoke English. In the end I can only blame myself I usually don't cry about bad beats or losses cause we all have them all the time. I just felt this was a mistake that should;ve at the least got mecomped a room.

Mohegan Sun is in Connecticut, right? You should try to get a hold of someone at the state's gaming control board and file a complaint of some sort. Even if it doesn't do you any good (you damn sure aren't going to get your money back), it might give
you a little peace of mind. It sounds like they are playing head games. Then I would go back in there and tell them to pound sand in their asses and never set foot in that shithole again.

No disrespect, nc. I was asking a serious question. I wasn't sure if it was in Conn. Didn't know if they had a full fledged gaming control board like nevada or even michigan.

if you were smart you would've taken the payout for the blackjack and moved on. the dumbest thing to do would be to stay there and try to tempt fate twice.

It was a really good idea to put all your chips on one hand of blackjack. You just ran into some bad luck.
Well my broker has just called me and told me I made 40k on a 5k investment in a Canadian Penny Stock AUSVF a few minutes prior. So I figured luck was on my side and I'd l go hard. The funny thing is I'm more depressed about what happened at the casino for 1k than I am happy about making 40k on paper with the penny. With my luck it will open up back at .05 tomorrow.
