The sportsbook manager must've seen a look of concern on my face, so he asked me if I was intending to place a wager on the Braves/Phillies game. After I answered in the affirmative, he just told me not to worry, they'll still accept my bet after the first pitch.
What? Can you believe that? I've never heard of that at any sportsbook. Ultimately, it didn't matter because I got my bet in about 10 seconds before the first pitch.
Anyway, it's small things like this that engender loyalty in a company. Next time I go to Vegas, I'm definitely spending a bulk of my time at M.
I actually wanted to stay there Saturday night, but they were booked, so I stayed elsewhere, but since it was new, I hung out there Saturday (for the NCAA games) and because I liked the atmosphere so much, I went back Sunday.
I can't vouch for the rooms, but I highly recommend the place. Perhaps the newness of the joint skews ones perspective, but I like the free soda fountains scattered throughout the casino floor, the cocktail waitresses for very easy on the eyes (no old hags with droopy tits spilling out their outfits), and the overall aura is relaxed. One problem is that the wait for all the cafes and buffet is annoyingly long. They have this one deli outside the sportsbook, The Vig, that took nearly 20-25 minutes to get me a simple order of nachos, but in all honestly, the place was crazy packed (they also take orders for those sitting in the sportsbook ) and they could only do so much.
Also, and I alluded to this in a previous post, the place offers live sports betting. They have these little screens where you can track the current odds. In fact, during the Villanova/NC game I saw the under 159.5 was at +350 or something like that at one point. Of course, the under comfortably hit.
Anyway, I might take a day trip up there in a week or two and hang out there.
