I have seen everyone of Villantes fights since he started..
I have also studied his oppenent fabio maldonado's last 5 fights....
First off Fabio is a disaster on the ground...actually his last fight was so hesitant to go to the ground, he even stooped as low as to do the Anderson Silva ..hit me in the face versus joey beltran....and it worked cause not once did he shoot...
Gian is an underrated wrestler and if you watched his last few fights he has not gone to the ground...he had to suck 25 lbs in 10 days for his last fight and was worried about fatigue as most fighters are on such short notice...
..(.a state champ wrestler in HS and wrestler at Hofstra).he trains his wrestling with Chris Weidman and they are best friends...wrestled together at hofstra as well....
If Villante takes him to the ground this will be almost boring how much he continuously takes him down repeatdly...i guess its all up to gian if he wants to stand with a 22-0 boxer...
An article in newsday today says gian had a full camp and is in unbeleieveable shape......which is GREAT for the ground game...
READ THIS ARTICLE AND I BELIEVE YOU WILL BE CONVINCED LIKE ME THAT HE HAS THE STAMINA TO GO THREE ROUNDS ON THE GROUND AND ABSOLUTELY DOMINATE THE CARDS......he will not knockout fabio so he better take him down...only way he will lose this is if he stands for three!

Villante is an over rated mma wrestler. Although his credentials are good he just can't seem to get his wrestling going on this stage. Also he slows down about 2 minutes into his fights. Chad Griggs(Ya side burns) was able to ko him, and cody Donovan was picking him apart till the head kick, I see fabio owning him on his feet in front of his home country.

I love betting on these Long Island fighters but I also love betting on Brazilians in Brazil. The line has gone from -110 to -140 for Villante. He impressed me with his win in his last fight (first time I've seen him fight). But I will just watch this one. I think the value shifted to Maldonado but not enough to take him. Should be a good fight and I'm rooting for my Long Island native.
