A few things to note after being in attendance for UFC 158
I am wondering if I am the only one who noticed GSP almost getting rocked in the 3rd round. Nick hit Georges with about 4 clean strikes and gsp just stood there and took them. All of a sudden you see gsp back up with caution and shoot for a takedown. This fight could have been finished in the third.
Also as the fight wore on I have never seen gsp as tired as he was in the 4th and 5th rounds he looked gassed and not to his usual stamina levels come the championship rounds.
Also his takedowns did not look as sharpe, something is going on with gsp. Maybe it was an off night but he did not look as sharpe as he normally is.
As well if you look at his face after many of his title defenses he comes out untouched, his last two fights he looks horrible, battered and bruised. This could be beduase he usually doesn't get hit often and maybe he does bruise easily which is fine but it just makes me think Hendricks is going to pose big problems for GSP more so than any other fighter.
Gsp is my boy, he's my favorite mm artist to watch but I see Hendricks tko in the second.

I thought his knee blew at some point in the third or fourth, that's how bad some of those takedowns were. Even when he was that tired though, he was still lighting Diaz up with the jab.
And yeah, read he woke up with a fever. He also complained that the canvas was ridiculously slippery, and I remember Hendricks sliding around there like it was a f'in clay court.

GSP came back from a surgery to where they said if a normal person had the same injury and came back at 80% that would be a success. Also like you noted he was supposedly feeling ill that day.
The other thing to note is, a lot of the ppl he faced before his last two opponents just weren't that diverse. The only guy that was would be BJ but BJ was so much smaller than GSP. But Hughes and Fitch had no stand up, Hardy and Thiago nothing off their backs. Diaz and Condit were the only two ppl he's fought who were dangerous in both areas.

Also take a good look to where some of his former opponents are, I mean Hardy and Thiago are legit on the outskirts of the division. Kos just lost to Lawler (Kos is still good tho) It's jsut that the level of comp is raised as well.
