I picked and bet Imavov but it was an early stoppage, and Jason Herzog doesn't know how to referee Main Event fights. It was on pace to be a great fifth round 2-2 if Imavov won the fourth round. Herzog didn't let that happen. Cannonier wasn't even knocked down for christ sake. What are these people paying $500 a seat to watch?

If Cannonier survived the fourth round which I think atleast was 50/50 or better.. he was probably going to push Imavov against the cage like he had done all fight until he recovered, and made it into the championship round. It was a good fight, but not super exciting. I think the referee should have some ability to pull them off the cage if the take down isn't coming. (which I don't blame that on Herzog) But, in the future if one fighter has shown the inability "not" to land takedowns, and is just killing time cage grappling.. The referee should be able to pull them away at any time. Nobody wants to see that boring nonsense.
If we are going to have many other rules.. then this would be a crucial one to ensure more exciting fights.
And if you're going to stop a fight because someone is wobbily.. It completely takes away the fighters tactic of playing dead, or being able to fake being hurt and then counter-attack.. I think that should be allowed as a tactic. Cannonier really had hardly taken any serious damage other than being wobbled. Jason Herzog was being too conservative as a referee for the fighters safety. The problem is even Jared Cannonier was not concerned about his own safety. He wanted to keep fighting, and trained many years to have that opportunity.
