Maynard v Edgar

Who you got?  My initial gut says Maynard because of his win over Edgar, but on the other hand, all Edgar does is prove people wrong. 

Eventually, Maynard's size and strength will be too much for Edgar to deal with.

This will probably the most lackluster main event since Evans v Bisping.  :)

This will be an interesting fight. Lackluster, possibly, but to me, its still intriguing. In the end, as you said, size and strength will probably be the decider, Maynard's wrestling and style matches very well against Edgar, course he has the win against him too. I may have to lean towards Maynard for this one but Edgar obviously at his best right now

give me maynard all fucking day long here...he looked so good, so did frankie, but maynard is a better version of frankie....so?


fuck i feel so stupid for laying 3/1 on bj, i just thought hed be too prideful and too much dignity to lose back to back but frankie earned it and busted his ass, props to him

I forgot how their previous fight went but I just see Maynard just going in for the takedown and controlling Edgar.  I don't see Maynard too concerned with Edgar's striking.  He'll probably risk eating a punch for that takedown.  I'm thinking this fight opens at Maynard -140.

Have to take Maynard on wrestling & chin!  , but he better be aware of  Frankie's improved conditioning  .If I was to set a line on that fight. Maynard  -165

Both Men seem to be better since their last meeting but Im still leaning towards Maynard

This will be a no play for me as far as a straight up bet.  I want to say Maynard will take it.... but Frankie continues to prove me wrong when I count him out.  This has decision written all over it so if anything I'll put $$$ on it going 3 rounds.

same type fighter, except Maynard is bigger and stronger.  Both have improved since last time, so I dont see a different result in the rematch.

Sorry guys but but going against the herd mentality. I'm thinking Edgar takes this fight. Yeh, Maynard won the 1st fight but since then Edgar has flat out kicked ass. He has beat the the champ twice. "no matter the champ was a chump". 

This sounds like a fight I want to see live. I don't pay any attention to this bullshit that one fighter is bigger than the other. Come on?  One guy bigger is the perception you hear on TV or the" follow the herd "crap you hear on Covers. These guys go into the octagon in shape and well prepared to fight hard. Can't remember every fight but seems like Edgar is always the small guy but he is the Champion.

Don't sleep on the 'bigger' fighter.  Imo, that's a huge part in capping MMA fights.  For example, we all know how dangerous and well rounded Florian is, but he ran into the wall in Maynard because, wait for it...Maynard is a bigger and stronger fighter!

Why do you think guys like GSP and Alves fight at WW?  They fight at that weight so they have a size advantage come fight time because they are naturally bigger than their competition.  Cutting weight sucks but it's a part of the game. 

Edgar has improved since their last fight and it'll be interesting what kind of gameplan he takes into the fight.  I don't think the in and out fighting will work this time around.

I know he knocked out Joe Veres, but that isn't saying much

i totally agree with turbo... it helps to be bigger than the other fighter, why do you think Brock and Carwin have done so well at heavy over the 'smaller'  more talented more experienced heavyweights. They just bully people around.  Makes a huge difference when you are bigger and stronger than another guy.

i should clarify what i meant by more talented, i should of just left that part out cause brock coming in had a crazy amount of talent. I mostly meant that talent in terms of being MMA educated and talented to do certain moves and so on..

i will say one thing, i agree with you that Edgar is always smaller and that he has done tremendous things but as i just said size does matter and that is why you see tons of guys drop down in the weight they started at cause they are getting bullied or outmuscled..  There are so many guys like Bisping, Vera (from heavyweight), couture just dropped to lightweight to take a break from guys like brock, BJ from welterweight to lightweight (but he might go back up lol) ..Kampmann and Swick are two other guys that dropped from Middleweight to welterweight..
