i saw the judges' scorecards after the event and all 3 judges gave Johnson Round 1.....2 of the 3 gave Dariush Round 2.....and all 3 gave Dariush Round 3......I completely agreed with Round 1 going to Johnson and Dariush getting Round 3 (although it was super close).....no way in HELL did Dariush take Round 2....no freaking way....in fact, if it had been a unanimous 30-27 for Johnson, I don't think I would have argued that.....this is one of the worst decisions I've ever seen in my life....every single media outlet scored the fight for Johnson....Johnson was -9.5 on the live point spread heading to the cards and the ML was -2500....i just can't understand how it's possible for EVERY SINGLE PERSON in the world watching a fight to score it correctly except for the 3 people that sit there and get paid to do it....even people who wagered on Dariush were admitting it was a horrible decision and you rarely get the majority of folks saying that because they are so biased....and I agree with the above poster, somehow I'm ALWAYS on the wrong end of these decisions....Johnson winning would have finished the last leg of several parlays that would have profited me over $1,000....I'm sick to my stomach....

I also wanted to note that Johnson stuffed ALL 7 of Dariush's takedown attempts, controlled the center of the octagon for basically the entire fight, knocked Dariush down at one point, and also landed more significant strikes.....but somehow 2 judges claim Johnson lost 2 of 3 rounds? GTFOH

they ufc made up for one bad decision agaisnt a semetic guy(nijem) to give it to another semetic guy(dariush)
what theu ufc should do is after every controversial decision have a poll voted for by the fans and if 95 percent feel that a fighter lost that a judge had winning said judge should be suspended for one year.
this shi-t is not accepetble for punters nor for the fighters whose livelihood depends on wins and losses

going into the 3rd johnsons face was beat up compared to a brand new dariush. johnsons punches would miss and dariush would counter and hit. split decis for sure but, even Rashad was a whiny baby about it. If you don't finish you have to rely on judges. payday for this guy

HAHAHAHA are you kidding me? You making that statement just proves you didn't even pay attention to the fight. Johnson CLEARLY knocked Dariush down in the 1st round with a huge punch. Johnson was outloanded Dariush in EVERY round based on the fight stats presented, including 34-22 in the 2nd (which Dariush supposedly won).
Johnson controlled the center of the cage for 99% of the fight and stuffed all 7 takedown attempts from Darisuh, which meant JOHNSON was the one dictating where the fight took place.
Not only that, but Johnson was -600 after round 1, and -1200 after Round 2 in live betting....he was -2500 live after round 3 and going to the judges' scorecards. If it was so clear that Dariush had a great chance of winning the fight, I highly doubt well respected sportsbooks would leave such a huge opportunity for people to cash in on Dariush at that point. Johnson was -2500 because he had EASILY won 2 of 3 rounds, and could make the argument he won all 3. Every media outlet scored the fight for Johnson as well. It's not like this was a razor thin fight and people weren't surprised by the outcome. They WERE surprised because it was one of the biggest robberies we've seen all year, if not beyond that.
The fact you think Johnson never knocked down Dariush makes anything you say irrational and illogical. What a joke lol

lol I type a ton of valid reasons why Michael Johnson won the fight, including pointing out that you didn't even know Johnson knocked Dariush down with a clean punch in the 1st round, and that is your response?
This board has some great members with valuable opinions, but it's a shame that it's also cluttered with people like you. When you have reasoning that is so erroneous, it makes everything you say seem worthless because you have nothing to back it up. I'm still laughing at the thought of you not realizing Dariush was knocked down in the 1st round. It was one of the big reasons Johnson clearly won the 1st. Shows you didn't even watch the damn fight lol

He clearly knocked him down. Dariush even said it in his post fight interview.
My thought Johnson Clearly won the 1st and Dariush won the 3rd. I also thought Johnson won the second but wasn't nearly as convincing as the 1st. When you're a top 5 fighter in the world you should be closing these fights out in convincing fashion and he just did not do that. Still a bad decision imo but Johnson didn't do himself any favors in that 3rd rd.

yea, I agree, I thought Johnson clearly won the 1, Dariush most likely won the 3rd (Johnson seemed to coast in that round), and felt that Johnson was the most likely winner of Round 2. The live betting odds reflected this as well, with Johnson being -600 after Rd1, -1200 after Rd 2, and -2500 going to the scorecards.
I had several longshot parlays that needed Johnson so I hedged with Dariush +800 after Round 2, not because I thought the fight was close, but just because you never know if Dariush could score a takedown and lock in a late sub as Johnson tired out. I was actually pissed after Round 3 because I thought I had wasted some money by hedging. Little did I know I was lucky I decided to do it. Still, seemed like a very clear cut 29-28 for Johnson, and some could even argue getting 1 judge to see 30-27. Wish the UFC would stop saying "don't leave it in the hands of the judges." Not every fighter is a finisher and they shouldn't be punished for not being able to finish their opponent. They should feel somewhat confident that a set of 3 competent judges can score a fight correctly when most of the casual viewers watching the fight at home can tell who won the fight.
