Or sports bettors in general. I bet MMA on various sites and recently placed a bet on partybets.

I bet u1.5 for Faber/Riveria fight, which won. They incorrectly graded it as a loss and refuse to correct it. I placed the same bet on other books too, and every other book graded it properly.

They are quoting/citing information that isnt relevant at all. In short they basically have zero idea how to score over/unders for combat sports. I spoke to 4 different people on their support stuff now, and they all basically say the same thing "nope it was graded correctly". I feel like I am trying to tell them 2+2=4 and they are just replying "no".

Doesnt seem like I will get my wager + winnings. I feel like I am being robbed. Just wanted to let everyone know to avoid them.

I am withdrawing my poker balance and sports book balance from them today.

They mention a rule that is meant for determining which round a fight ends in if the fighter quits on the stool.  They have no other rule in regards for how they score over/unders for combat sport, so you would assume they do it the properly/logical way.

So basically Partybets scores over/unders for combat sport differently.

I don't think their rule is very clear at all.. but under 1.5 must be finished in round 1 according to them.. not before round 2 2:30 like the big books do.

I don't know how many other small books do it this incorrect way (imo). But its interesting to note.

The bad part is, most books copy bets/starting lines from the main books.  So they copying these lines, but score them using a different method.  If you line shop, and want to deal with crappy small books, you could get an extra half round by betting overs on them.  And then only bet unders on top books to get the full time.

I just find it funny how the on the exact same line the under won on some books and the over won on others..

Anyways, hopefully this post saves someone money if they didn't know some books grade over/unders on mma differently.

What makes you think that "some books" grade this way?  I've never heard of this, and you are absolutely correct to say that this is NOT standard.  Were they offering odds that differed significantly from the consensus?  Unless this highly non-standard policy is clearly stated on their website, you should:

1) Out them more vocally here, e.g. with a thread title that warns people who don't read the thread, and

2) Report them a 3rd-party arbiter, e.g. SBRForum.

Likely none of this will help you, but you will at least help out someone else and, with any luck, cost the 'book some business.

Of course, I understand that you might want to wait and do this *after* you have cashed your check.

I heard ratethebooks.com helps with situations like this. I've never had personal dealings with them, but it doesn't hurt to try. That sucks man - under 1.5 doesn't seem that difficult a concept to grasp from the outside.

Ive been outting them all over the place and a few people said some books do this.  I think those books are all incompetent tho and dont understand how over/unders are supposed to work in MMA.

I understand theyre using the logic like how half points work for soccer or something.. clearly wrong.

One guy in the industry said that some books score it that way, but have it clearly written in their rules, and he agreed that partybets rule does not explain how they grade it.

Go to SBRforum.com and file a complaint and they will actually contact the sportsbook.I would do this ASAP.

Just go bet over then on every fight if they are basically saying it's either finished or not finished in 1 round not 1 round and 2:30 of 2nd. Just use it against them. Has to be advantageous.

If that is indeed how partybets grades the over, then this would be a significant opportunity.  That's why I was curious if the odds posted there are similar to other sites.  Something tells me that a book slimy enough to do this in the first place wouldn't interpret things that way.  My guess is that when they last odds for over 1.5 and under 1.5 rounds, both bets are losers if the fight ends at any point in the 2nd.  

Worth checking, though.

My initial idea was to bet all overs for 3 rounds fights on party (when I want to bet an over).. since you get the extra 2.5mins that way.

My 2nd idea was if I can get close to the same odds on party and another book, would be to bet the over on party and the under on the other book.  Take a small loss most the time, and win both bets if they fall in the 2.5min sweet spot.

The 2nd idea, if you can get close to match odds is obviously greatly profitable... with some line shopping and keep a close eye on things it should be something you can manage.  Especially if you can correctly predict which way the lines will move, then you can do it pretty often.

Unfortunately since this happened.. party must have realized they were grading them wrong because now they are not posting any over/unders.. what a surprise eh?  of course they didn't pay me out.. or even reply to any of my emails (last reply was the one posted in the OP).
