notice how all the props favor mcmann fight going similiar to how tate vs rousey 2 played out 2 months ago? What did the props look like going into rousey's last fight? i think it was close to even odds minus some juice that the fight would start the 2nd round.
This fight to me is going to be quick and everyone is pinned on the fact that tate got into the 3rd round. I'm not going to let that cloud my mind. I'm still going to remember how fast rousey can get into her favorite positions and go for the finish in the first round. I would not be surprised if rousey decided not to go for an armbar for this fight stoppage in the first round. Remember how she kept punching carmouche but not hard enough to get a stoppage or do any damage? I think she can do the same thing but be in a lot better of a position and get a stoppage. +175 for a first round rousey win to me is a good deal.
ever since the fight got announced i have been studying and thinking about sara mcmann. Keep in mind that i do not like rousey at all, i think she is the worst champion among all of them in the ufc, i don't like her personality, i don't like the type of people that she hangs with, and everything that people found out about her during TUF, i already knew well before the show. In other words, watching the show didn't even make me not like her anymore than i already had. for all the hate everyone gave her during and after the show, i always said that they were too late to realize everything.
Anyways, there are a few things that stand out about sara mcmann to me and i am not impressed. Her last fight with sheila gaff showed that she was kinda slow at getting her down. It looked like she had some trouble against the cage at first and the fight was broken up and restarted in the center. Keep in mind that gaff is a 125er and this makes me think that rousey is going to ragdoll her and get what she wants against the cage. mcmann striking is not good enough to do anything and rousey's chin is good enough. A lot of people would say that tate kept tagging her and that's true, but rousey is the type that can take harder punches to get the position that she wants. So if you're going to hit her, you better hit her really good and hard with ko power, but nobody is going to be doing this in ufc women for a while.
To me sara mcmann is not good enough on the ground. She had top position in a grappling match vs shayna baszler in 2009 and lost by submission. I know it was a long time ago but it still counts for a lot, especially due to the fact that rousey is very very good on her back. The last and final straw that i found very interesting are a pair of youtube videos by BJJScout. If you haven't seen it yet, it is very worthwhile, the guy also managed to give excellent insight on the gsp/hendricks fight too.
Why isn't sara mcmann that great of a grappler? bjjscout talks about sara mcmann's toes, why can't she bend them to be quicker at advancing position while she's grounding and pounding? i think it might have to do with the car accident she had in 2004 where one of the things that was confirmed she received was a broken arm.
When asked by a reporter during her interview scrum whom she brought in to help train for this fight, she was secretive about it. Why even say that you've been training with marcelo garcia then? yeah she probably brought in shitty judo fighters that nobody has ever even heard of.
