Dean Barry vs. Mike Jackson - ummmm WTF is this doing here? Mike Jackson was once a CM Punk mma opponent during the wrestlers brief UFC run which was absolutely pathetic. Even more pathetic was that fight was actually competitive. Dean Barry is a striker, but not necessarily a talented one from what i've watched. He is 4-1 and his lone loss was against Anthony Taylor who is more known in the boxing world for being on Logan Paul undercards. Dean Barry got choked by a boxer. Barry is a -1200 favorite which is ridiculous even though i do expect him to win due to what we know of his opponent. I'm picking Barry by 1st round TKO/KO but nobody should be laying those type of odds on this guy. This is a no bet fight, unless i throw something small on Jackson just for fun. This fight belongs on a Bellator undercard.
Marcin Prachnio vs. Philipe Lins - Both men have above average striking skills. Prachnio stood and traded with Khalil Roundtree and earned a decision victory which is pretty impressive, but also got finished in the 1st round in his first 3 UFC bouts. It's a bit do or die for Lins at age 36 and 0 for 2 in his UFC bouts. Lins is coming down in weight and this is likely a good time to use his underrated grappling. This is a pick em' fight so i'll likely back Lins (+100)
Parsons vs. Elder - Elder is a late replacement moving up in weight to take this fight, although 170 is probably his "walk-around" weight. Elder is a promising prospect with really solid striking. Parsons is more known as a grappler/wrestler with submission skills. Normally i'd take the wrestler, but Parsons shoot attempts in his bout against Daniel Rodriguez were very lackluster and he ended up trying to strike, only to get stopped in the 1st round. There is a bit of a buzz around Evan Elder and even though he's taking this on short notice i'll likely play Evan Elder by KO/TKO once the odds are available......more picks to come
