Very interesting card with some tough fights to pick, let's get to it...
Candelairo vs. Taira - pretty exciting fight to start us off. Taira is only 22 years old, but is built extremely well for his age and has a relentless gas tank. Candelairo is the more mature and more technical fighter and should also still be undefeated after being robbed on DWCS. I think the fight could go either way really. Taira is very loose with his striking and leaves himself open to counters and it's likely Candelario catches him, yet at the same time i'm worried about Candelario's gas tank compared to Taira. I Like Candelario (+198) just due to the fact i'm not comfortable laying -245 on a 22 year old.
Mazany vs. Young - Could be a loser leaves UFC bout. Neither fighter is anything near a contender. Young has never won in the UFC and Mazany has never beat anyone worthwhile. This is likely a 3 round grapplefest and i'm backing Young (+140) strictly due to the fact of Mazany's history of completely folding if she gets hurt. In fact, this is likely a "decision-no bet" play i make on Young at +215.
Breeden vs. Levy - Levy's loss to Rafa Garcia doesn't look so bad after Rafa looked great in his last fight. I don't really think much of either fighter long-term. Levy will be looking for takedown's, Breeden will be looking to strike. If Levy can remain focused and not try to rush the takedown's then i think he takes it by UD Levy (-200) Note: Levy is my pick, but this is likely a no play for me.
Lainesse vs. Green - Yohan Lainesse has some very heavy hands, not very technical striker, but can end a fight with 1 punch. He looks for TD's and Ground n' pound. Gabe Green is the more technical well rounded fighter, but the problem here is that he often takes a good amount of punishment. Green's best pathway is to extend this fight as i've seen Lainesse sort of gas early. Green is the slight favorite, but i'm taking Lainesse by tko/ko (+200)
Romanov was the pick last week and i'm sticking with it, but i don't see any play to make with it. More to come...

Da Silva vs. Figueiredo - Da Silva aka Lacerdo is a finish or get finished fighter. Figueiredo lives in the shadow of his brother, but is a solid fighter in his own right and has pretty good grappling skills. If this fight gets to the 2nd round, then i think Figueiredo gets the victory but Da Silva is dangerous early. I like Figueiredo (+105) i have him in a parlay and will also back Da Silva to win in round 1 (+400) as some shaky insurance.
Meerschaert vs. Jotko - Meerschaert forte is to get his opponent to ground and hunt subs which he is very good at. Jotko is a very tough fight for him because he uses disciplined distance control and has very solid TDD. I think this is a fight where Jotko keeps his distance and potshots Meerschaert for 3 rounds while Meerschaert spends the entire fight trying to get it to the mat. I like Jotko (-180) but likely won't make a strong play here.
Elkins vs. Connelly - Elkins has been fighting in the UFC over 12 years now and has been in some wars and frankly i think it's really starting to show after getting starched by Cub Swanson not too long ago. Connelly has only 1 loss in the last 5 years and that came against a personal favorite of mine Pat Sabatini this time last year. Connelly is a well rounded fighter and is similar to Elkins in that his best attribute may be his toughness. Both fighters are proven, but the wear and tear is really beginning to show on Elkins, so i'll back Tristan Connelly (+150)
Gordon vs. Dawson - I like both fighters and both are really solid grapplers, but i like Grant Dawson (-180) to have the better cardio and wrestling skills
Fili vs. Brito - Fili has been around the block in his career and most of his losses have come against high level fighters. i remember Brito on DWCS and his last fight vs. Algeo and he kinda gassed in both fights. I think the experience and cardio win out here Fili (-250) but i won't lay those odds, maybe use Fili in a parlay
Collier vs. Arlovski - Arlovski is a living legend, still doing it at 43 and actually winning. Collier was once a middleweight and has ballooned up to HW, but you can see when he fights that he has good feet and movement. Almost like a skinny guy trapped in a fat man's body lol. I feel like Collier is getting a bit disrespected here and everyone just thinks Arlovski will continue to defy father time and point his way to another decision victory, but i'm going Collier (+115)
Vera vs. Font - a few things working against Font here. First, he took a beating in his last fight vs. Aldo as it looked like Aldo turned back the clock to his WEC days and had Font out on his feet several times during that war. Second, came in overweight and that could be a sign that he didn't have a great camp. Vera is a guy who isn't the most technical or clean fighter and is someone who has great cardio and makes his opponent work as he pressures and looks for a Muay Thai clinch. Font's best weapon is his go-go gadget jab which keeps his opponents at bay and he has decent power in his shots and can overwhelm opponents if he smells blood. This has the chance to be a great fight and i'm backing Chito Vera (+105) to have the cardio to outlast Font and possibly win this fight by stoppage late.

IF Yohan doesn't get the KO early then it's likely he gasses and Green can get his back. Green has multiple RNC's on his resume. to bet this NGD is -320, not laying that. Think these 2 plays are most likely scenario's

also adding: Gabe Green by sub +420

pretty much got a refund on my two initial plays. Saw Yohan fading at end of round 1 and when he dropped Green in the 2nd i thought all 3 were going to be losers. Green is a pretty tough guy

Shanna Young got the night started off in a big way
Levy by decision
Green live washed out the other bets i had on that bout
Just laziness on my part for not accounting Connelly having to come down to 145 when he normally fights around 170....he just didn't look good at all. So that parlay i liked so much blew up
Brito by KO +1100.....but again i should have went 1st round knowing he starts fast, oh well i'll certainly take it
Collier ....wasn't a "robbery" but i thought Collier won 29-28
Chito .....that guy is scary. Idk the official stats, but it felt like he took double the amount of strikes that he landed on Font, yet Font was badly damaged and Chito looked like he could have gone another 5 rounds. A Nate Diaz-esque performance from Chito and he'd be a legit title contender going forward

For a nightcap...Shakur Stevenson vs. Oscar Valdez for pretty much all of the Super Featherweight (130) titles.
I'm riding with Stevenson by stoppage (+260) Stevenson is a 7 to 1 favorite about. Valdez lost his last fight to Conceicao, but the judges had his back in order for him to keep his "0" and more importantly keep his belts in setting up for this fight with super prospect Stevenson. Valdez has also been popped for PED's and didn't look so great without them in his last fight. Stevenson, only 24, is very likely to become P4P #1 in the boxing world when Canelo starts to fade or retire. I see this fight as Stevenson's chance to make a real statement to the rest of the division and those in weight classes ahead of him that he's the man going forward. Valdez is tough so i don't think he will go out or quit, but i think the ref steps in late.
