This event takes place at 4 a.m. so I doubt many of you will be able to play many of these fights unless you see this post in the next few hours. I will post my plays anyways since some of the later fights will be going on when a lot of people are waking up. A pretty poor quality card compared to the epic fights that are coming up in the next few weeks. Nonetheless, there is still some money that can be won here. Several fights will need to be skipped but I will focus on a few.
Dong Hyun Kim (there are two fighters with this name, but I'm referring to the one who is fighting Waters) should be the easiest bet on the card, but the way things have gone the last few weeks, I wouldn't be surprised by any kind of upset at this point lol. He should take care of Waters, who is taking the fight on short notice. Kim will likely get a late finish or a clear decision in his favor. The only way I see Kim losing this is a flukey KO. I don't see that happening. Of course I didn't see Ronda Rousey losing a few weeks ago either.
In the main event, I think Henderson probably gets it done in the later rounds to pick up another boring decision victory. I like Masvidal a good deal, but he can be inactive at times. Henderson is quite the opposite and really pushes the pace with his relentless kicks and takedown attempts. He also has great cardio. I think it will be competitive early, with Masvidal even maybe finding some success on the feet. But as the rounds progress, Henderson will impose his will and start to wear Masvidal out. This is Henderson's last fight on his current UFC contract as well, so I can see him wanting to put on a good performance to test out free agency or put the pressure on Dana to re-sign him.
Choi and Sicilia should be a good fight for as long as it lasts. Sicilia will try to plod forward and score that one-punch KO but I expect Choi to really rough Sam up. Choi's takedown defense is on point, which should keep the fight standing. I think Choi will have a significant advantage on the feet due to his more diverse and technical striking, as well as the volume he throws. Collier will have some height and reach advantages on his side, as well as excellent cardio. I also think Collier throws more offense than Yang, which won't help things with the judges. It should be a competitive bout, but I expect Collier to pick up a decision win. Finally, I think Serrano's combination of wrestling and power should be enough to take care of Zhikui.
Overall, not a ton of fun fights on this card and nothing that I'm super confident in, other than Stun Gun (Kim). I'll be on most of these plays for close to the same amount and hope to come out ahead in the end. Good luck if you're able to play anything.
