Someone please explain? The guy who's lost 5 of 6 by knockout Mr. Glass Chin. Also he is admitting that he has struggled with the weight cut, usually not a good sign.
Don't know much about his opponent but dude hasn't lost in a long time and is working his way up rankings quickly. Sambo artist who is getting 25:1 on submission win...

as old news as it is him being a former champion and beating anderson silva twice still likely is a public perception factor, and a lot of people (myself included) aren't very familiar with akhmedov.
akhmedov is 5-0-1 in his last six. this isn't a bad thing, but i noticed he has no finishes in those five wins (just an observation). i just watched his most recent fight(heinisch)...he looked good, for the majority, but faded a little and likely lost round 3. my eye test result on him is that he's pretty good to good in most areas, but unspectacular, but he gets the job done. weidman's lost 5 of his last six. granted it is a list of very good fighters, but that's still a lot of getting knocked out. akhmedov was a welterweight at one time. it will be interesting to see how he matches up with weidman physically in the grappling exchanges. he may elect to keep it a striking contest as much as possible given weidman's durability issues.

Weidman and durability do not go hand and hand...

noI am of 2 minds on the sweet submission odds 25:1 pays for a lot of things). They think Weidman at 185 can actually win, they think his glass jaw could come into play before any submission, or they see no finishes despite a 5-0-1 run and figure he won't get one tonight.
My thought is, what if it goes past 3? Damn, justvsaw this is a 3 rounder, would have thought they'd give Weidman a 5 rounder to see if he has anything left. Does Akhmedov catch him as Chris tires? Will the smaller cage lead to a finish, either glass jaw induced or sambo submission? Now that this is a 3 rounder, not as attractive but still decent odds on Akhmedov inside distance.
I have to put something on thos ending in a finish, probably a gift to the bookie bit if it hits...
Good luck all,
