UFC Fight Night 47:
Ovince St. Preux (+145) vs. Ryan Bader
Right now, leaning towards the upset in the main event. I know Bader's usual game plan, which OSP's game does not mesh too well with. However, I believe OSP can stuff Bader's takedowns and use his striking skills to steal a win. Small play here if I decide to back OSP.
*POD* Ross Pearson (-135) vs. Gray Maynard 2 Units
This line is a gift! Pearson absolutely worked Diego last time out, only to receive a loss. At this moment, I feel these two are trending in the opposite directions. Pearson's boxing looks crisp, while Maynard is trying to regain his identity. To me, Pearson should take this one soundly. Only fight bet I have locked-in at this time.
Brad Tavares vs. Tim Boetsch- Tavares by Decision (-120)
Thinking this fight will be closer than it looks by the odds. Both men are really durable and got worked in their last fight, so they both have something to prove. Thinking Tavares squeaks out a unanimous decision winning 2 out of the 3 rounds.
Seth Baczynski vs. Alan Jouban
Should be an entertaining fight from what I have been hearing. Don't know anything on Jouban, thus probably a no play here. Thoughts?
Jack May (+165) vs. Shawn Jordan
Leaning with the upset in this fight. The 1st round should be really entertaining. Both men possess great power; however, liking May due to the fact that he may be the more technical fighter, which might prove to be the difference.
Thiago Tavares vs. Robbie Peralta
To me, another fight that might be closer than the odds show. Coin flip fight for me. Insight?
Zach Makovsky vs. Jussier Formiga- Makovsky by Decision (-123)
Seeing this fight being more technical, thus not seeing a finish. Makovsky should be able to grind out a unanimous decision win.
Sara McMann vs. Lauren Murphy
McMann ML at -335 is too steep. Looking for value: McMann by decision (-121) or McMann inside distance (+253). My gut is telling me McMann by 2nd round submission but the massive juice on the Over 2.5 Rounds is telling me decision. Thoughts?
Tom Watson vs. Sam Alvey
Toss-up fight for me but will probably be a no play for since I don't know too much about these fighters.
Frankie Saenz (-155) vs. Nolan Ticman
Both fighters are making their UFC debut. Really liking Saenz in this fight, due to his wrestling skills. Ticman is a little too risky for me and I am seeing Saenz controlling the fight on the ground to grind out a easy unanimous victory. Also, Frankie's father is renowned wrestling coach, Frank Saenz. His boy must have some skills on the mat.
Been an active member in the other forums; however, this is my first time posting in the MMA forums. Always like to check these threads before every card. As a result, been killing the books for some time. Thought I step-up and start posting. All plays listed above are only LEANS, except for the Pearson play. I will be locking in my plays after the weigh-ins. Let me know what you guys think!
Good Luck to Everyone!
