Baltimore Orioles -1.5 +135 (Tillman)
vs. San Diego Padres (Cashner)
Cashner has been respectable for
the Padres thus far but has allowed 9 earned in 14 innings spanning five road
games this season. The Padres are 1-4 when he throws a pitch on the road. Aside
from Chris Snyder’s base on balls, not one Orioles batter has faced Cashner.
The Orioles however rank third in all of baseball against righties with a .276
average. Orioles have the edge in the box, the pen, and on the mound. Factor in
home field and I see value in the run line tonight.

Cleveland Indians -128 (Kazmir) @
Philadelphia Phillies (Pettibone)
Kazmir appears to have found a
groove after a shaky first start of the year. He has allowed just two earned in
each of his last three starts. Should he only be able to go 6 innings, I feel
very comfortable seeing Cleveland’s bullpen toe the rubber as they rank 5th
in all of baseball with a 2.95 era. The Phillies are 26th in the
league vs. lefties with a .228 average. The Indians are hitting lefties at a
.268 average. They also own the league’s best road batting average with a .275
clip. Factor in CMM’s five unit bomb on this same game and it is a for sure
lock for me.

Kansas City Royals +106 (Guthrie)
@ Los Angeles Angels (Vargas)
This Angels team owns a career .179
average (20 for 112) vs. Guthrie, with seven of those hits coming from the old Josh
Hamilton. This Angels team continues to be a fade for me as they are simply out
of sorts right now. Guthrie is 10-0 in his last 18 starts dating back to August
8th. Vargas was touched up for 10 hits and five earned in 5 and 2/3
innings vs. an offensively challenged Astros team in his most recent start. I
see the better pitcher and the better team at plus money here. Factor in Key’s
liking and it’s worth a stab for me.

Three plays a day with a hopeful result of 2-1. Best of luck to all!

Initial leans of mine that are easier to lock as I chase... Dodgers -1.5 +115 (Kershaw) vs. Nationals (Haren)
Fading Haren here and backing one of if not the best pitcher in all of baseball. I see one maybe two if not any runs being scored on Kershaw tonight as he has allowed just 4 earned in 36 and a third innings at home this season. This Dodgers lineup has very promising lifetime numbers vs. Haren so I am banking on them being able to push across some runs.

Rangers -119 (Holland) @ Athletics (Colon)
Fading Colon here as he has been hittable his last few starts. Rangers with the clear pitching advantage in this one. I also value their offense more than I do the Athletics, who are missing a couple key bats who should return tomorrow. Here's to the Rangers getting game two in Oakland.
