Hey Sir john,. It's been a few years but always love your style. Slow Progressive system with patience is the way to win long. I remember one of your writes up over 10 years ago on flat betting and it reminds me Something I saw today on Twitter and have always known but it's always good for me to review every once in a while. The harsh reality of betting sports...by the numbers
Assuming $110 to win $100 per bet, here's your profit margin over a 100 game sample

Hi RC! Thanks for the compliment! Yeah that slow progressive system along with the patience is the way to win long, yes indeed! I like your illustration, it shows the reality, the harsh reality of betting sports. So if a gambler is very disciplined in just betting with a flat system they are going to find it very very hard to win in the long run, you would have to maintain that 55% win percentage or better which is not easy to do if you're only betting that 110 to make a 100 as you have illustrated with your example.
Now if you're the type that doesn't mind taking bets just below -200 then you're going to have to maintain a 66.66% winning percentage, again not easy to do, to make any kind of a gain. But if you only like dogs then you just have to maintain a 50% winning percentage provided that your risks always stays the same but again that is not easy to do in the long run.
That's one discipline that is actually an obstacle into a gambler's success in the long run by always betting flat. What a gambler needs first is a nice sizable bankroll, then use a progressive system by first starting the cycle low, then use a progressive system to get losses back. Of course it helps to know the trends, which starting pitchers are quality, which team closers are quality, the list goes on and on and so yes the grind is real...it's tough! Thanks for your post RC and good luck with your season!
