It's the timing with A Rod, ever since he came out and admitted his use of roids hes gone down hill. We have seen that with a lot of players and we will probably see that with Melky. This is not a coincident. He defrauded the Yankees, his fans and most of all probably the young player who works his ass off to make it in the line up but cant because the organization will be deemed a failure for such a pathetic contract. Funny thing is we are such a forgiving society that even in this forum not many people talk about the fact that this guy cheated his way to 250 million dollars and more importantly a spot on the roster. When baseball started cracking down the true abilty of Alex started to show.
Just another case of steroids making an above average player a hall of famer. Dude is off the roids, starting to age, and has a fragile mind. Add all that together and you get the beginning to a spectacular crash to finish what was once thought to be a storied career.
