Pushed on the Konerko prop in last night's game, a game that tested the patience of either side for those on ML wagers. It is never easy for the Mariners in this ballpark, as they won for just the 4th time in their last 23 games on the South Side. And it took extra frames again.
Moving forward, Felix seems like a good deal at -133, and perhaps I land there, but first, I will have to explain away the horrid record the King has at this ballpark. In 7 career starts, the Mariners post a 1-6 record, Felix has allowed 10 HR's and the only win came in the nightcap of a double header way back in April of 2009.
I write a fair amount about guys/teams regressing to the mean, when talking about small sample sizes, and perhaps the opposite is true today . . . Felix is due to progress to the mean. Nonetheless, when making a play of that nature, It's much, much better to be on the other side of this price. Do I really want to lay 33 cents AND require a move to the mean? I'm not so sure that's a healthy way to build a bankroll.

Dylan Axelrod hasnt exactly lit the world on fire in his 10 career starts, posting a 4.50 era, and throwing a whopping 17.8 pitches per inning as the Sox won 6 of those games.
In general, he seems to be a very middle of the road starter, and seems well placed to start the Sox 5th game of the campaign.

Meaningless unless both teams fielding exact same lineup as last 5 games.
hardly . . . if Felix was +140 today and one could pinpoint that stat as a primary reason for the masses piling on the Sox, then that stat has tremendous meaning. No stat accurately predicts future performance inn baseball, but some help explain prices, and hence shine a light on prices that can possibly be exploited.
In addition, some stats can be correlated. In this case, I am not finding correlation such as Felix being an extreme flyball pitcher, and thus might struggle in this ballpark against a typical Sox lineup. But I'm not seeing a correlation today, thus I might lean towards progression to the mean for the King, but I dont want to pay 33 cents for the pleasure of backing that proposition.

I like the Mariners chances in this game, i think Felix regresses a bit from his Opening Day start . . .I am taking the over in spite of Konerko riding the pine today. The Mariners bullpen is a bit scray for today.
I may regret it, but I'm pulling the trigger regardless.
Over 7.5 at +102

I've had games where i took and UNDER and regretted it before 3 outs were recorded, but today might be the first day i regretted an OVER when i still have at least 49 outs to work with.

I've never had much luck with totals. I dont even know why I tried. I'm glad I put an end to it early.
Do you only cap/wager Seattle games?
