Balt @ NYY 8 is the total. Seems 8 is too low a hurdle and the over should hit "naturally" as a matter of course....However, there are too many times to count how these two teams score exclusivley off the HR; too many solo shots. These two pitchers are skillfull at getting that 3rd out. Bend, let the offense extend itself, threaten w/ traffic on the bases, ony to punch them out. Cole threw 106 pitches against them....so the manager trusts him to know the out pitches....Can make a case the other way, too. Yankees can be "patient at the plate" all they want, but Burnes does not burn himslef. Would take a lineup like the Dodgers to do some damage, and that's the last opponent to do so.

SD ML Going back to the Padres. Took a clutch hit from Ohtani, who knows how to just plunk his bat out to meet a tricky slider, and he did so on a 2 strike count to get the go ahead and winning run. Buehler got absolutely rocked in his last vs the Pads and didn't get out of the 3rd inn., and it's not a stretch to expect the same. Like the Pads after a loss, trying to get rid of the afertaste with a sweet victory. Playoff type game last night--I lost as well, but Pads were competitive and in position.
