This is a pathetic sport, white Sox already chokinf
With Vince starting, you should already know it would be a wild game….
Not to mention, it’s Spring training.
These games are meant for sneaking out the energy these teams are coming into the season with….
Take a chill pill until Thursday

Baseball is different than the other team sports in that they play series,not one night stands.
I'm taking off the year due to personal problems,but I'll leave you with this:Home teams going for a three game sweep do much better when the game is played Wednesday rather than on Thursday.I have the records(opening line,streak,game of series,day of week,etc.) from every game from 2014-2021(except the abortion in 2020).The Sunday sweep attempters fall somewhere in the middle.
My hunch is that the road teams are search of a day off as they almost certainly did not get one on Wed but likely did so for a Thursday game.Sundays are 50-50 for that.
I'll miss expounding my theories here but responsibilities take precedence over fun and games.Hope to return in 2023.

@OneWayOut
I hear what you are saying. Have bet baseball for many years. Have never made a bet on spring training games. How can you bet real money on a game when winning is not the primary objective?

Sounds like a perfect opportunity to bet on dogs in the spring. I have had tremendous success during the spring, and if you look around so have other guys here.
But in general, betting on any sport, at any time is a risk.

The best way to bet exhibition baseball is to wait for a good team to lose, then bet them the next game! If they lose that game double up on the next one!

@undermysac
I still remember you making me some serious dimes on spring training into the reg season back in 2009.
Between that and NBA playoffs that year the bookie I had said he wouldn't take my bets anymore.
Thank you for that

I totally disagree and I’m referring to regular season baseball . Here’s why:
1. Starters set the tone for the game, so that’s who study.
2. The worst teams typically win 60 games so plenty of opportunities to exploit.
3. recognize the best pitchers if they stay healthy will start 33 games and they have a great season if they win 20 games …. Rarely happens so plenty of opportunities for going against favorites.
4. teams can be on streaks …. There’s ways to decide on going with it or against it .
5. like in most sports ….. you gotta take the time to peel the onion back and dig into numbers and find patterns to exploit .
6. the key is getting to the point where you enjoy the analytics more so than the money you win.
7. every sport takes effort and baseball takes time and effort as well but is very rewarding if you can take a pause and find those patterns.
Don’t strikeout - get A hit and get into the game .

You're wrong about point #1 and I think you misunderstood point #6.

@StumpTownStu
Sorry, Stu, I played this sport all the way thru my senior year in college many years ago. Played with a couple of guys who had long MLB careers. You telling me I’m wrong on an opinion about the current state of the game means absolutely nothing to me. I guarantee you I know much more about it than you’ll ever know....
